Cannot say enough about our stay at this inn! My husband and I were thrilled with everything! We were fortunate to stay in a renovated room but regardless the whole experience was perfect right from check in! Staff is wonderful, friendly and helpful. Chocolates and sangria at the front desk. Spacious room, large tv, comfortable bed and great linens. Lovely rooftop patio with plenty of seating and tables. Wonderful touch with breakfast delivered to your room every morning at the specified time you requested. Can’t say enough. If we visit beautiful Newport again we will be sure to stay at the Newport Inn!

We had a poor experience right from the get go. We were at the door of the hotel with our heavy luggage, and saw a couple behind us with no luggage. We thought that they were returning to their rooms, and we let them enter first, opening and holding the door for them. They barely thanked us, and instead of going to their room, they went straight to the desk for check in. We had to wait a good 10 minutes, fuming and staring at them, but they skillfully avoided eye contact with us. We just could not believe how rude some people can be. The man at the desk was very friendly, but did not do anything to correct the situation. It was surreal. Apart from that, we liked the hotel and its location. Our room was spacious, and breakfast was good. We also liked the large Nespresso machine in the room, with plenty of pods to use. Noise was a little bit of a problem with upstairs guests (steps, flushing toilet etc..), and also very noisy garbage collection in the early morning

We have never stayed in accommodations like the ‘town house’ room at The Mill Street Inn! It was unique and perfect as it was walkable to the famous Thames Street in Newport, RI. My husband especially liked the personal balcony that overlooked Newport Harbor and the wharf area. The staff went above and beyond for whatever we needed…. Recommendations for dining, shopping, the trolleys, etc . We wish to acknowledge the superior care that both Lori and Alexander at the front desk showed to us as well as other guests! Lastly, the ‘rooftop’ sitting area was the perfect way to view the sunset and meet other guests! This is a property that we would highly recommend to other guests.

Wonderful! We enjoyed drinking the complimentary sangria while watching the sunset on the rooftop deck. Then we took a six minute walk down the quaint streets to see a concert at the Jane Pickets event center. Lastly, slept in the super comfortable bed. Will definitely return!

The Mill St Inn is an absolute gem. Our junior suite was so comfortable and the best bed we have slept in whilst being on our New England road trip. Breakfast was amazing - the almond slice was beautiful & the red pepper & cheddar drop scone was out of this world! The bag of treats on arrival ie popcorn, pretzels and sea salt caramels - absolutely delicious. Couldn’t believe how close we were to downtown, the wharf and Bellevue to access the Cliff Walk - we did walk a lot and covered over 13 miles. Alexander was a star - so helpful with tourist advice and brilliant customer service. The lady that bakes the breakfast goods needs to open a shop! Not sure when we’ll make it back to RI, but this is where we’ll be staying!

Everything was amazing! Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The proximity to main streets in Newport made it so easy to navigate on foot. The parking included was very accesible and off street.
