The Toy Room at Forest Farm is a quirky retreat set privately within the Farm House on a working Farm. We are surrounded by forest and countryside, yet only a short drive to the vibrant city of Nottingham and the market town of Mansfield.
Papplewick village boasts a charming country pub, quaint tearooms and is the southern gateway to Sherwood Forest and home of Robin Hood. Ideal for long or short stays, country and city lovers, holiday makers, cyclists, walkers and business travellers alike.
The spacious living room retains the original rustic beams and harness racks, it has a traditional part wooden and part tiled floor. There are two luxurious cream leather sofas, antique Victorian pine furniture, freeview 40" T.V and DVD player, an abundance of DVD’s, books and games, an additional Belfast sink plus separate toilet with washer dryer.
The stairs from the living room take you up to the large hand-crafted kitchen/diner/sitting room that overlooks a small courtyard. The kitchen is well-equipped with utensils, quality crockery and cutlery, it has a large Belfast sink, an oven with hob, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster and microwave oven. There is a lovely pine dining table and a two-seater reclining settee to relax and watch the freeview 22" T.V.
The Kitchen leads to the bedroom which overlooks the garden, parking area and chicken coop (no cockerels). It has a super king-size bed which can be separated into single beds if necessary, pine furniture, a freeview 32" T.V and shower room (no bath) with a heated towel rail.
A welcome pack is provided, along with fresh linen and towels.
Electric heating throughout providing maximum comfort, a water heater for unlimited hot water on demand and complimentary Wi-Fi.
We have a strict no-smoking policy inside “The Toy Room” but please feel free to smoke outside by the BBQ area.
The Toy Room has its own private entrance, a well-kept fully fenced and gated small lawn and wiley country flower garden. There is a disposable BBQ area with bench style table and seating, recliners can also be found in the garden storage box.
We are situated off the A60 with a secure self-check-in lock box at the electric gate and plenty of free off-road parking.
Close to the M1, East Midlands Airport, the tram, train and the bus from Mansfield to Nottingham passes the end of our drive every 10 mins.

On the outskirts of the village is Papplewick Hall which dates back to the 18th century whilst it s St James s Church has links to Robin Hood as legend has it that Robin Hood would cut his bows from the Yew Trees in the church yard. The nearby cave dug from a standstone cliff has also been named Robin Hood s stables.
Nearby we are blessed with an abundance of tea rooms, country pubs, restaurants, shops, country walks, golf courses, cycling routes and horse-riding stables… an ideal location for cyclists and walkers with Derbyshire less than an hour’s drive away.
We have an abundance of National treasures to visit including the Papplewick Pumping Station, Newstead Abbey, Southwell Minster, Newark Castle, Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park, Rufford Park, Sherwood Pines, Thorsby Hall, the Nottingham Caves and White Post Farm, these are just some of the nearby attractions.
Close to the M1, East Midlands Airport, the tram, train and the bus from Mansfield to Nottingham passes the end of our lane (A60) every 10 mins.
