I have stayed at this resort before and encouraged friends to join this time. Upon checkin the associate suggested adjoining rooms for us. Not something we had requested, but great! ALMOST FOUR HOURS after checkin time, with three tired/hungry children in tow, our rooms were ready. First- not one single person was even remotely apologetic. Not even a simple ‘so sorry.’ We got excuses and long winded stories of other guest issues and housekeeping. Secondly, when our room was finally ready at 7:30p (again- four hours after we arrived) we received a call while we were at the very dirty, loud outside restaurant (ducks and crows were eating at food left behind because the staff wasn’t cleaning them). I returned the call and for over 30 min, I was rerouted, never able to reach the front desk to confirm. Zero recovery or apologies and more excuses when we did check in. In the room there were old towels on hangers in the closet. We called housekeeping to ask for a blanket (there was only a sheet on the bed), towels and an extra pillow and were told ‘the hotel is out of pillows’. The next morning, we were evacuated during breakfast because of a fire alarm. Amenities like mini-golf were half open due to construction. At checkout, Jake (same from first night) said ‘How was your stay besides the fact that I KNOW everything was a disaster.’ The he handed me my bill -still no recovery or apology- and said ‘We will address these mistakes in training.’
