I don’t recommend Marriot downtown Philadelphia
When we arrived we found out that parking wasn’t included on the stay, when we booked the hotel, in the description it said it was included. At the reception, they were talking and looking at dresses online and barely paid attention to us, ends up they gave us some Keys that did not work. When we got to the room we found out we had to pay for WiFi, what hotel charges for WiFi? The shower and the carpets were dirty with stains. Then in the middle of the night the fire alarm went off. Everybody had to go to the closest exit and the the security guard said it was nothing. The only nice thing was the location

Not a bad spot especially for the location. Staff was excellent during the check in process and super helpful. They also provided some options as far as food and drink and gave us some directions. The room was a little dated. There was some rust in the shower and the overall feeling of the room wasn’t super fresh/clean. Just had a dingy feel to it. It was our anniversary so we had ordered some in house gifts for each other. We contacted the front desk and they had no idea what we were talking about. They transferred us to their housekeeping/food people and it was a similair response- mind you this was ordered through the hotel. They eventually learned they forgot about the food and brought it up at like 10:30 on a Friday night. Not ideal as we were just coming back for the night. To their credit they added some more items for free but too little too late kinda thing. Overall the hotel is in a great spot and is safe, sufficient, and staff does relatively well. I’d just avoid pre ordering room service.

Had a wonderful time at the Marriot Downtown Philadelphia! My room was huge and the location was so close to so many activities. There were plenty of convenient shops and places to grab a snack. Would definitely come back again!

The check-in took well over an hour. They were hosting a conference and totally unprepared for the number of people who would need to be checking in on the night before the conference started - totally understaffed. Then the room key situation was a total fiasco. They are in the middle of switching the lock system and the front desk is apparently unaware of which rooms have been modified. I had to walk to and from my room (it was a very long distance) at least 4 times because the room keys didn't work over and over. the hotel itself is very nice but the management needs to be sorted out.
