Paradise! We stayed for 4 nights in a sea view room in hotel 5, which was conveniently right above one of the resturants and pools. Very well run resort, staff were friendly and helpful. Trucks that take you up and down the hill are frequent and very handy. The breakfast buffet was huge, with entertainment at certain times. There were daytrips to go on, we did the snorkling trip to Phi phi islands, the snorkling was amazing! Part of the trip was a quick stop at the main town on Phi Phi and it was absolute madness, so crowded, we were SO happy we made the decision to stay at Santhiya instead of that island. Also the beach massage and the spa facility is lovely, some of the best massages we've had. My only note would be that you could hear the music from the resturant below from our room upstairs, so maybe not ideal if you like peace & quiet in the afternoons, but there other buildings to stay in if thats not for you. Also some of the chairs & loungers needed repairs, but there were staff everywhere doing maintenance so perhaps it was on their list. Overall highly reccommend!! We were so sad to leave!!

I really like the view and this rustic part but really disappointed before arriving at the hotel i was not prepared that I should pay the boat to get to the hotel normally it should have been automatically included in the package. The services was slow. Breakfast was included but I didn't even get the time to have it because you have to be in a hurry to get the boat to checkout because they didn't take the time to wait for you. It was a worst and stressful stay in this hotel that I had in my life. Will definitely get back to phuket for the nature and the culture but never again in this hotel.

If you want to temporarily exit the busy life in the city and need to relax your soul and mind this is the perfect place to be. Santhiya Koh Yao Yai is like a hidden paradise. From the moment you set foot in the island you are greeted by the most friendliest staff and crew. We had the time of our lives there. Island hopping, private thai massage, grand breakfast buffet and relaxing views at the villa. Wish we could stay a little bit longer because they offer more for the customers like yoga classes and muai thai. Beautiful place to stay. Maybe we'll come back pretty soon with friends.

Truly spectacularly beautiful and unique resort. If you’re looking for an island paradise, you have found it. There is only one draw back that you must consider in arranging any and all transportation for anything off the resort or island, and that is: the transportation! If you decide to do any type of activity off the resort or island, then transportation becomes a huge issue. Limited resort boat transportation, which means you will have to take private boat transportation arranged by the resort and at a cost. So, if you decide to come here, then do yourself a favor, and stay on the resort. It is well worth it. However m, if you want to venture off the property and explore the surroundings, then give it a second thought as convenient transportation is lacking. The resort itself is spectacular! This is a huge property over very steep terrain, so the lication of the room can affect your stay. Small carts transport guests to amd from the main reception area, but it obviously takes some time. The hotel is incredibly ornate and rooms are well equipped. We were blown away by the view and the room furnishings - but sadly our first impression was the disgusting smell, as soon as we entered. This turned out to be the drains, which were then cleaned, once we reported the issue. Other probelems included the very sudden, loud, noise disturbance from below our room - which happened to be a restaurant. So loud! It was the same in the main restaurant area too. So loud that we couldnt have a conversation over it. Also, the food quality on the 750 baht BBQ was terrible. We didnt eat it but were still charged! Very poor service really. In hindsight we should have stuck with the main menu, as the dishes from there were delicious. In general, it's a beautiful resort, with breath taking views and (some) good food. It's good value, for the main part, except for that BBQ... avoid that.

The staff doesn’t understand English very well and for that reason doesn’t explain well when we ask something. Also the speed boat should have an extended hours for guests that arrives after 4pm. I was in the phone with three of the staff the day I arrived at 6pm they told me have to wait at the marina until next day.

Property was great, but the food is poison. I got shrimp for dinner the first night and was violently ill over the next few days. As an American, I thought I could have caught an exotic illness or a bacterial infection. However, given that my girlfriend did not get sick and after talking to my physician via phone I am confident that it was food poisoning. Completely ruined the experience and was the most sick I've been in years. They also nickel and dime you here--don't get a morning return flight! If you have to leave the island before 10am, they require you to get a private boat which is super expensive. On the first night, we were discussing coming back to this island because of how impressed we were with our villa, but by the end we were excited to escape the island from hell.
