Great stay for the price, staff very friendly, clean rooms, right by the malecón, very convenient, close to public transportation, for $10.00 pesos you can take a bus to the airport, located at playa Los Muertos, nice area to swim. The only complaint is the restaurant that is located within the property, nice place, but expensive, a margarita costs 299.00 pesos, in other more affordable areas you can find them for 130.00, food was expensive too, but seems like a great place to eat, staff at the restaurant were very friendly.

The property was clean, and the employees were very nice. The location was fantastic, but it had no swimming pool, and the beach chairs were limited and put away at 3:30 in the afternoon

The hotel is what it is...charming Mexican hotel.Tile rooms, small bathrooms, firm beds and pillows...all very clean. Smily staff. Pay the extra and get an oceanfront room....the views are wonderful, especially the sunsets.

Our stay at El Emperador was excellent. We booked a suite overlooking the ocean. Everything from dining to nightlife is walking distance. The manager Gervacio and staff were excellent. The restaurant downstairs was fantastic. They give guests from the hotel a 10% discount. If you're looking for a budget hotel with great service you can't go wrong with this hotel.

Overall: A Really Nice Stay
Enjoyed my 7-night stay at the Emperador. I had good internet strength for my entire stay, and that’s really key for me. The hotel was quiet (for the most ) and I enjoyed that. I was ocean front on second floor farthest away from the pier. A visit in the slow season is good for a quieter visit to Zona Romántica, I think. Given this property’s location and amazing views, I’d love to see them invest in updated televisions and room decor. The restaurant downstairs was way overpriced for the quality of the food.

Fundamentally what this hotel offers is a beautiful view from the ocean front rooms. It is clean and the staff are mostly helpful. However, the property suffers from slow Internet, a horrible stench from the shower drain, tattered cushions on the beach chairs and a requirement that the beach chairs be put away by 3 PM.
