Putrajaya Holiday Packages

Putrajaya, a planned city built atop old rubber and palm oil plantations, serves as Malaysia's administrative centre—even though, if you check the record books, it’s only officially "existed" since 1999! At its centre is a 650-hectare lake flanked by public parks, a towering bridge, buildings that blend Islamic art with modern design and streets that evoke a decidedly European feel. Our Putrajaya holiday packages will ensure you see it all.

Things to Do in Putrajaya

Standing atop one of the highest areas of town, Putra Perdana Park separates Putrajaya's governmental sector from the commercial and residential areas. It also provides a stunning view of the city useful for those of you who don’t mind making the folks at home a little jealous. In the park, find "Mercu Tanda," a sculpture that symbolises the beginnings of Putrajaya, along with pedestrian walkways, gazebos, water fountains and pergolas.

Located in the north of Precinct One, Putrajaya Botanical Gardens was designed as a sanctuary for Malaysian plants. A bridge allows visitors to stroll through a rainforest canopy. Visitors on Putrajaya holidays also must see the Putra Mosque. The distinctive building is constructed of pink granite and can accommodate 15,000 worshipers at any time. Note that non-Muslims cannot enter the mosque during prayer hours, but visitors can admire its striking red domes.

Putrajaya's centrepiece is Putrajaya Lake, which serves dual purposes. The waters act as a natural cooling system for the city and provide a place for water sports. Spanning the lake is the 435-metre Putra Bridge. The twin deck bridge connects the government precinct in the north with the mixed-use development in the south, and if you book one of our Putrajaya car hires, you can drive across the top deck of the bridge. Once you’ve got your own set of wheels, you can explore other areas of Malaysia. We’ve got Bukit Bintang packages with your name on them!

Shopping, Dining & Nightlife

Here's the thing to know about Putrajaya: commercial, governmental and residential areas are nicely divided into precincts of their own. So if you're there on a Putrajaya holiday, it should be easy to recognise where to go when you want to shop, eat or socialise. Brace your wallet for a visit to Precinct One, where you'll find high-end luxury brands in two huge malls. If that's not your scene, check out the Souq Putrajaya, a bazaar-style street market in the business district where craftspeople sell and exchange wares.

Dining options in Putrajaya are seemingly endless, and when you book our Putrajaya holiday deals, you’ll have plenty of money left over to spend on grub. There’s a cluster of traditional Malaysian eateries at Selera Putra food court near the Putra Mosque. Check out Taman Warisan, an agricultural market in Precinct 16, where you can dine and then shop for fresh produce and spices. Find restaurant chains and some high-end dining options in and around the city's megamalls in Precinct One.

After dark, visitors and locals venture to rooftop bars, gastropubs and trendy nightclubs. If you're not into the club scene, there are concert halls and movie theatres where you can catch a flick or hear live music. Many hotels also have bars and pubs that offer a decidedly slower paced atmosphere.
