Rooms on Water is a 40-metre ship, the hold of which was converted in 2017 into a beautiful group accommodation for standard 12 people.
I now offer it on weekdays and some weekends for max 8 people. You will have 4 bedrooms instead of all 6, but the space will be exclusive to your group.
All bedrooms have a private bathroom with shower and underfloor heating. These cosy bedrooms have air conditioning (hot/cold), an opening porthole (round window), underfloor heating and a wardrobe. There are 2 single beds, which we can convert into double beds on request.
The living room is very attractive and cosy. With a large glass wall along the indoor entrance, two large cuckoo windows (wooden skylights with glass), several robust oak tables and an old wooden carpentry bench, the atmosphere is warmly industrial. You can make yourself comfortable here. Hang out on the lounge sofa, play games at a table, or cook together, slide the tables together and have a lovely dinner.
Above the living room on deck is the roof terrace. Here you can enjoy the evening and the city dynamics.
Rotterdam: everything close by
A stay in Rotterdam means shopping, architecture, a ride in the water taxi, enjoying the lively Market Hall or the real market (Tuesday or Saturday), strolling along the Old Harbour with its historic ships, shopping in the Hoogstraat, Koopgoot or Meent, or a museum visit. All these hotspots are within 5 - 10 minutes' walk from Rooms on Water.
Of course, you can rent bikes and discover the city that way, or take a long walk along the river Maas or through the lesser-known parts of the city.
But from Rotterdam, you can also reach the beach in 45 minutes. There is even a metro to the beach at Hoek van Holland. By metro or train you can go to the beautiful historical cities of The Hague (40 min), Delft (less than 30 min), Leiden (around 40 min), Haarlem (over 1 hour), Amsterdam (over 50 min) or Utrecht (50 min), by water bus to Kinderdijk or Dordrecht.
In short, while staying on board Rooms on Water, you can enjoy a very nice varied holiday. Discover Rotterdam and see a part of the Netherlands.
I, Moniek the owner, live on board in the former skipper's house, the guests live in the former ship's hold. Normally, we hardly ever meet and when we meet, it's outside.
Note: If you are organising a bachelor party, Rooms on Water is usually not suitable. Rooms on Water is not a party boat. Reservations can only be made under strict conditions. Please contact the owner before booking to discuss your request.
Please note: The ship is not suitable for children under 9 years old
