Ok but facility was dated and only ok Good restaurant with views of quay to begin walks to old Trafford and Coro street but only acces from hotel at front was a small fire door. Meaning a 800m walk around facility and carpark to start walk Still ok overall

I recommend this hotel very much.
We booked a club room which gave us a lovely big room & breakfast included. A complimentary drink voucher also included. Very clean & has everything you need. Needs a bit of TLC but on the whole - great! Had an evening meal which was excellent. Buffet English breakfast also excellent. Staff very attentive & friendly. Walking distance to Manchester United Football Stadium, The Coronation Street Experience & Salford Quays. Short tram ride to Manchester Piccadilly for shopping. Ideal hotel & very well situated.

On check in I was charged for BFast although I had pre paid with Expedia. Still waiting for the refund. The room we were allocated was very hot. But there was a fan available. When we tried to run the bath it was apparent that the hit tap was defective. The reception staff were apologetic and moved us to another room. Lack of 13a plugs - one by the TV / Kettle and one under the table - not very convenient in a modern world where we have two or three devices that need charging. We ate in the on site restaurant - food was very good and staff very friendly. At 2345 we were awoken by a loud banging sound - the pipes we suffering with water hammer. On check out the reception staff we apologetic and said that it was being looked at. The whole hotel needs some money spent on it.

Investment needed!
Staff excellent. Hotel needing modernisation . Hotels and technology.....I was asked to check in online . So I gave car number credit card number and asked not to be given a room with a connecting door to the adjacent room. I arrive am asked for car number credit card number and yes given a room with connecting door! Why send online check in and ignore it? .

Really must do better
I have stayed here before but sadly this visit was a much poorer experience than previously. The TV system wasn't working for the whole 3 night stay (a fact which didn't seem to be known about by the receptionist when I raised the issue - the restaurant manager was aware though!). I stayed in Room 203, but the computer system somehow thought I was in 202 (I only found this out by accident at breakfast when it was queried). Consequently my room had no housekeeping during my stay. Of concern is what would have happened if someone else had been allocated to/gained access to my room or had charged anything to my room account by accident. Even when I checked out, reception were adamant that I'd stayed in 202!!!!! On a more positive note the hotel is very convenient for local public transport (Exchange Quay tram stop is less than 5 mins easy walk away). The choice of items at breakfast was very good, and all the staff I encountered were friendly. I will probably stay here again, but sincerely hope that things will have improved. If not, my next visit here will be my last.

Sadly my overall experience here was not positive. The check in process was very slow for some reason. I was told my room was upgraded which was a pleasant surprise, but if the room they gave me was an upgrade I would hate to see what room they were going to put me in. Staying here is like being transported back in time - everything is tired, dated and grubby sadly. And the walls are paper thin. Be prepared to hear the toilet movements of your next door neighbour... The dining experience wasn't good either. None of the tables were particularly clean when I came down for dinner. The meal itself wasn't great either - the sheer amount of garlic on the chicken dish will keep me safe from vampires for the next decade at least. Sadly, breakfast was even worse The number of tables with dirty plates etc on far outnumbered the number of tables that were ready to be occupied. Coffee machine was broken and the stand-in coffee urn was empty when I got to it. The black pudding was like rubber, sausages barely cooked, mushrooms over cooked and hash browns also barely cooked to the point of being almost inedible. Again, very dirty overall. Only one member of staff broke a smile the whole time I was there, the others were generally surly and really didn't want to be there. Not a great experience sadly.
