Street Noise

We spent one night at this location prior to a cruise. I chose this hotel for its proximity to the beach. We arrived just after 3 PM and were told the room was not ready, which is my first complaint. Once we were allowed to check in we were charged a resort fee of $50 which was suppose to cover 2 bottles of water in room, beach towels, chairs, bicycles, etc. but by the time we could check in the sun was already starting to set, there really was no time for the beach, so in essence we paid a resort fee for 2 bottles of water. My biggest complaint however was the street noise which continued past 2 AM, car horns, radios, and loud mororcycles, made it impossible to sleep. The windows might as well have been wide open because they did nothing to block the noise. The hotel was close to 2 pharmacies, restaurants, and souvenir shops but the street noise was just too much. I would not stay here again.

Terrible customer service and False Advertising

I booked two rooms and pay through Hotels.com when I checked in the hotel told me that they themselves had canceled one room, but they would rebook it for $700 more. After going back-and-forth with them for almost an hour, they promised me free breakfast and oceanfront view for both rooms. We checked in about 5 PM and weā€™re told that the rooms would not be ready until about 8 PM but they would hold our luggage. When we finally got to our rooms, one had a partial ocean view, and the other one was staring at Construction when I went down to the front desk again to ask why we did not get the rooms that we were promised after paying $700 more they told me there was nothing they could do about it but I could leave if I wanted. There was also mold and mildew on the ceilings. The sink leaked and we had ice cold showers for three days because they said their water heater wasnā€™t working. I didnā€™t take a photo of the construction work out my window but I should have and it was very loud until late at night

I always choose Hilton because of their overall high standards of cleanliness and customer service. THIS WAS NOT A HILTON! It is a Best Western that was recently acquired by Hilton and has not been brought up to normal Hilton standards. ROOM: smelled musty from the beginning. By day 2, I started coughing at night. There was black mold in bathroom, around vent, on curtains. Bathroom fan didn't work. Front desk said no more rooms available then suggested I "open the sliding door" to let in fresh air (which we did). Sliding glass door was nearly impossible to open and in need of repairs. We left it open most of the day time but couldn't at night because traffic was too loud to sleep. RESORT FEES: $45/night. Does not include $25/day parking, laundry, or breakfast. Laundry is $2.50 per wash. Machines only take quarters. I needed change for my dollars. Front desk had zero. They suggested I walk across to the pharmacy to ask. I headed out (in the rain) to the pharmacy, liquor store, and finally a street vendor to find quarters. BEACH: $45/ day is supposed to include "Beach Club" with chairs, umbrellas, waters, and towels. This "club" is on the public beach where Hilton hired a 3rd party company to set up chairs and umbrellas. Problem is they are also selling them to the public, which means they pile us in like sardines. Never once was there water or towels at the beach. When I mentioned the front desk, they suggested I carry my own from the hotel.

The hotel and staff were great. The location was fantastic. The only concern was the resort fee per night that was not disclosed ahead of time. That is something that needs to be upfront when booking the hotel.

This was not the quietest of areas. Construction begins at 430. Even between the rooms, you can hear everything. There was not one towel hook in the room, we were forced to hang wet towels and bathing suits on chairs, lamps, anywhere we could. The notice on the back of the door showed where we could find vending ie: ice. It was not there. Being on the 11th floor, if we wanted ice, we had to go down to the lobby, around the back of the hotel to find the ice machines. If you are looking for an average, close to the beach so-so hotel, this is for you. As far as looking for Hilton quality, SUBPAR. S I will admit, staff was friendly and helpful. It is the hotel itself that it not up to par.

Very close to the beach. Oceanview is spectacular from a top floor. Many dining options nearby, and walgreens opposite for quick shopping of any necessities. Resort fee is high and a rip-off. Otherwise, good property in Condado beach.
