One of Sigiriya's most postcard-worthy tourist destinations is the Sigiriya Archaeological Site. The Hotel Sigiriya and Jetwing Vil Uyana are within a stone's throw of Sigiriya Archaeological Site.

The Hotel Sigiriya and Elephant Corridor are recommended options if you plan on visiting the Sigiriya Museum while you are in Sigiriya and want to stay close.

8 kilometres from the middle of Sigiriya is the Amaya Lake. The Heritance Kandalama can be found 11 kilometres away. Some other options in this area include the Habarana Village by Cinnamon and the Cinnamon Lodge.

Everyone knows New Zealanders are pretty chilled, so consider staying a little longer and check out the Royal Botanical Garden and Sri Dalada Maligawa, in Kandy, 75 kilometres to the south of Sigiriya. Or, you could stay in Trincomalee, 85 kilometres to the northeast of Sigiriya, where you can pick from the Trinco Blu by Cinnamon and Anantamaa. Regardless of whether you're passing through or spending a few nights in Trincomalee, set aside some time to check out the Koneswaram Temple, Trincomalee Harbour and Fort Frederick.

Bandaranaike International Airport is situated 130 kilometres from central downtown Sigiriya. If you choose to stay close by, you can book a night at the Full Moon Garden Hotel or the Cockpit Hotel.
