Oir stay was OK. A last minute booking so we could spend the evening in the lovely St Ives. We had trouble finding our room and had to go back to reception to ask for help! I thought the room was a little cold in the night. The carpark is large and the location is excellent.
Heating was on and could not turn off as was broken. Reception not obvious. Good parking thou

Probably wouldn't stay again.
They've put bathroom lights on sensors... Ours didn't work so was flickering a lot, my partner isn't good with that so we got moved to the ground floor, a smaller bed and a disabled room. The bathroom needs a deep clean, there is scum all around the splash boards.
The bed is fairly comfortable.
The decoration has gone for grey chic and clashes with country chicz I'm not sure they've decided on the theme yet.
It's expensive for that it is and doesn't include breakfast....
We were woken up to multiple fire alarms - which didn't help after a late night wedding.
The poor receptionist didn't know if he was coming or going - they need more staff!
However it's in a stunning location.
I actually wondered if I were high paying £170 for a room here when I remembered upon check in.
Turned up to find no one on reception just a 'back in 5 minutes' sign. No one was back in five minutes so we checked ourselves in - they key was easily reached from the reception desk, so secure!
Hotel only tried to take the payment just before check in not at the time of booking, which was annoying for cashflow planning.
The room was horribly overpriced for the facilities - I couldn't even find a hairdryer, let alone a welcome pack, which would have been useful as no one was at check-in. I would expect more than a couple of packs of cheap biscuits; no water, welcome note, or fresh flowers, the bed was pretty uncomfortable, no air conditioning, just a cheap floor fan.
Very disappointing breakfast area which can only be described as looking like a big working mans club. £10 extra for breakfast on a nearly £200 room is ridiculous.
I barely ever leave reviews but I'm here to tell you; do not pay for premium rooms. This hotel does not feel premium and you'll leave regretting the cost. Especially true right now (Aug 24) as they're in the middle of building work and there is material stacked up all over the place.
Staff were excellent (morning reception, dining room).

Ok, but will be better when refurbishment all done
The hotel is currently being refurbished, so we expected some disruption. The restaurant wasn’t open for service in the evening.
Our superior room was newly appointed, clean and comfortable with balcony view of the river and countryside. Large and clean bathroom. No complaints there.
On the downside, there was only one person on reception, the WiFi didn’t work in the room and the cooked breakfast used poor quality sausages.

The hotel is under renovation so restaurant and bar not open however our room was beautifully decorated and check in was easy with friendly staff
Property is under new management and premises are undergoing refurbishment. The room we had was excellent but no restaurant and no bar . Very few staff but the staff available very helpful. Half hotel refurb done but long way to go.

Going through renovations when we stayed so imagine things will be different very soon. The staff was top notch and the location is perfect with many options for food and drinks in walking distance.
Booked the hotel online after seeing some lovely pictures we was meant to have a king exec suite with a balcony so the pictures showed at a cost of £185 we got a tiny room no view curtains as yellow as sponge Bob as they probably haven’t been washed in years dead flies on the window seal the bathroom door wouldn’t shut properly as it was rubbing the tiles in the bathroom was dirty and loose all in all terrible
Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and had everything needed in room. Room next to road but no traffic so mainly quiet. Had to keep curtains shut due to people walking past. Brief noise in evening from people having been out and coming back and /or getting cars. Most rooms are away from the road though.
