If you like a resort experience you will likely like this hotel. I found the prices over-inflated and the room not up to par relative to the cost - very dark, paper cups instead of mugs, weak coffee and mattresses too firm for my liking. Also the Waikoloa Coffe in the Ocean Tower closed at 12, too early and too far to go to the other side of the resort for coffee. I liked the Kohala lawn area.

The staff at the Hilton are extremely professional and hospitable. Checking in was frictionless. There is a tram that goes to all of the towers of the Hilton so you don’t have to walk to your hotel with your heavy luggage. The pools and activities are great for families. The palace tower where our room was located in is partially being renovated so it was a definite eyesore. The hallway looks very outdated including our room. The rooms are modest so if you’re looking for luxury this is not the place for you. However, if you’re looking for reasonably priced, safe, and amenities for kids this is ideal.

The grounds were absolutely beautiful. Getting around on a wheelchair was a little difficult. But overall an excellent experience.

At booking, property was supposed to offer free breakfast, but at check-in we were only given vouchers for adults not kids. This seemed like something obvious to fix but front desk refused multiple times even when expedia customer support got involved. Property condition at high-level, but upon closer inspection not so great: ice machines not functioning, shampoo/conditioner was never refilled in the room, despite high resort fees everything cost extra...
