Barefoot Cottage - Waipu Cove Beach

A perfect getaway for couples with easy access and view of one of New Zealand's most beautiful beaches only 5 minutes walk away. Relax and swim all day or hang out on the deck and take in the view. This cosy, comfy Cottage has everything you will need for either a weekend escape or a weeks total unwind.
Explore the coastal walks or the Fairy Terns along the beach. So many destinations in either direction from The Cove you will always have something to do and find. The Cove Cafe serves delicious food either takeaway or dine-in. Waipu township and the world famous McClouds Pizza Barn and Brewery is only a short drive away. Only 1 1/2 hours from Auckland it is perfect for a weekend getaway.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL PUBLIC HOLIDAY WEEKENDS MIN OF 2 NIGHTS: Waitangi, Anzac, Queens Birthday, Labour Weekend. Easter Weekend minimum 3 nights. December 26 - January 15 minimum 5 nights unless spare nights available.

Awesome spot
Great location and accomodation. Really appreciated the comprehensive amenities, made the stay much easier to prepare for and made for a great stay. Wonderful views. As others have said, while you park at and walk past the residents house, once in the cottage it is very private. We saw the host once, which was a gidday as the walked past in the beautiful gardens below. Highly recommend.

We stayed at Barfoot Cottage for 6 nights - it was so stunning - accommodation, weather, views and location, it was so hard to leave. Margie and Gary are very discreet but very friendly hosts. My partner and I had the most amazing two nights stay here. Everything had been thought of, and the attention to detail was amazing. The location is unbeatable, with a 2 minute walk down to the beach. It feels very private and quiet, which made it even more peaceful.

Anniversary getaway
This was an absolute gem of a place! The cottage was clean, light, beautiful decor and had just everything you needed. The views are spectacular no matter the weather. We experienced the typical 4 seasons in a day and it was still amazing. The deck had a fantastic spot to have a meal or too (and we did) and comfortable seating to sit tucked up with coffee & a book or just take in the sights. As well as looking out to sea the garden was gorgeous. It was a very short walk down to a popular eating spot. Highly recommend this place, the only negative is that we had to leave and go back to reality!!! Can’t wait to stay here again 💙

Breath taking views
What an absolute pleasure it was to stay in this cozy cottage. It comes with all the essentials. The heater warmed up nicely as the cooler evenings approached, and the view from every angle was stunning! The hosts have a beautiful location, and it is highly recommended if you have the opportunity to stay in Waipu. Note: The cottage is situated alongside the hosts property, however, do not let this discourage you from staying. Your privacy is completely respected and the cottage is designed in such a way that the main house is located no different to any of the other neighbouring properties. We will be back. AA++
