We were supposed to stay for 1 night at Chaplins, which was booked 3 weeks in advance. An hour before check in time I got a message to say that they no longer had rooms, but had found a replacement b n b. We were told by the lady that there was a problem with the showers, that they had known since the day before, but only communicated to us an hour beforehand! We were shown to the new b n b by a young man who walked a mile in front of us! and with a mobility impaired member of the party trying desperately to keep up behind! When we arrived there was another group of people waiting to get in. It turned out that they had the same surname as us, had had the same problems at Chaplins and been told they could have 2 rooms at the new b n b too. I then had to show my booking reservation again while the young chap talked to the other group. We heard him tell them that there was a problem with the ROOF at Chaplins, so 2 different stories there! After going off for about 5 minutes he eventually came back with keys and a very poor apology for the inconvenience! A rubbish way to deal with people. Pathetic lack of communication and total disregard for any level of customer service. All in all, shocking is an understatement. Steer clear of Chaplins!!
