Great property and location. It's a shame that the service good not match. The rooms were not available on time despite check in being after 4pm. The staff could not cope with how busy it was with guests during breakfast. Food was not being replaced on time and orders were being missed.

We had a room for 5 and it was great. Kids loved it. Staff were very friendly and professional. Outdoor pool area was great although it was raining the pool was heated. Hotel is in a great location to the beach. We had breakfast and the food was brilliant. We will be back to this hotel.

Unfortunately checkin was not good. I had arrived 40 mins before 4.00pm but the room was not ready, so we went for a drink in the bar in. We went to get a drink in the bar and wait. But as we approached 4.00pm, the reception area was full of guests and the queue was very long. By this time it was well past 4.00pm and so by 4.30pm I joined the queue where eventually I managed to check in. This was by no means any member of staff’s fault, as they were working to full capacity. My observation would suggestion that the late check in time does not allow any steady flow of guests thereby producing this massive surge at around 4.00pm which lead to a rather frustrating and fraught check in for both staff and guests. I wasn’t too impressed with the entrance to the rooms via the car park and small area for the lift to floors or the view of dilapidated buildings to the sides of the car park and by the time I reached my room, I was by then understandably unsure of what I would find inside my allocated room. However I was very pleasantly surprised. The room with its two double beds was a good size and very clean. Beds really comfy. Breakfast very nice, plenty of choice. Location of hotel great for the sandy beach within a five minute walk.

My husband and I booked a room at the Marriott for a weekend break over the May bank holiday. The room was okay but did not look like what we thought we had booked. We were given a room in another building other than the main building which was a disappointment. Initially we were told the wifi was complementary but then told on arrival that in order to get free wifi I would have to sign up to the mailing list which I did. The view from our room wasn’t great as it was in the corner and of a wall with the paint crumbling off. The very same window looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks as there were dead and dried up spider and other insects stuck to the cobwebs on the curtains and widow frame. There was left over food under the bed which makes me think that the rooms aren’t cleaned properly.

We had a nice holiday and the hotel was mainly good. The only negative points I’d raise is that our room wasn’t cleaned the whole time we were there and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The coffee at the pool bar was also undrinkable and the Friday BBQ was massively over priced. The front desk staff were great though as were the staff in the bar/restaurant. The breakfast was good too.

Lovely deluxe king room, with a great sea view, which was fantastic for watching the Friday evening fireworks display. The room was spacious and clean, with a powerful shower in the ensuite. Water and toiletries are replenished each day, as is tea / coffee. Sadly biscuits are never provided. Hotel staff are mainly hardworking and polite. However there is not plainly enough staff, so the service is poor, especially for food. Queues to be admitted for breakfast are too long. Queuing a further 27 mins for an omelette is not acceptable. Being given dirty mugs and cutlery is not good. No staff are checking if you need another pot of tea when the original one is cold due to queueing for food. The outdoor pool and lounger area is pleasant. The pool temperature was lovely and warm one day, but unfortunately it was too cold the other two days that we came for a swim. Staff need to fix this. Overall, this hotel is very nice but overpriced for the lack of service.

Loved the hotel, the bar and the room was stunning. There was a loud noise from our room when fan in bathroom was running however this may have been related to the toilet. Other than that, perfect.

Poor standards at the Bournemouth Marriott
First time staying in a Marriott hotel for a few years and we were shocked at how poor the hotel is,the breakfast is chaotic served in what is basically a corridor with staff and guests getting in each others way,it’s nothing short of a free for all.The standard of cleanliness is very poor and the crockery’s is very poor, also the staff don’t seem to wear any sort of uniform and the breakfast experience is nothing better than a poor transport cafe.Although the room was nice someone needs to train the staff how to make a bed, the way it was made was laughable. We did speak to a manager about our concerns whilst we were there and I also know other guests weren’t happy. I have stayed in Marriott hotels in years gone by and they were always very good but we will not be going back the Marriott in Bournemouth again
