River Edge Inn is a hidden gem in Gatlinburg. The location is tops for walking to places in town and saving on parking fees. This was the second time I have stayed here and will rack up more stays on future visits as thus place is tops!

Hotel is nowhere near a river. Backs up into an alley. Rooms are dirty, floors have hair all over them. Ac unit leaks inside, the floor was wet and black mold was present around the ac unit which is directly next to the bed. Would not recommend.

Upon arrival the registration manager was extremely helpful, friendly and organized. Our room was clean, well-stocked and quiet. The bed was comfortable and soft. The balcony overlooked the pool and had a nice view of the mountain. We were very happy and enjoyed our stay.

Great property, perfect walking distance to the downtown strip! It was less than a five minute walk to the main areas, and maybe 12 minutes to Anakeesta. Surprisingly very quiet area for the location to the strip, we stayed for four nights and saw bears two of the nights. Both were right in the parking lot, literally a few feet from us, so be careful walking around after 10pm! The beds were extremely comfortable, the staff were great about extra towels, breakfast snacks, and they even printed our National Park Parking passes for us after we forgot to the print them beforehand! You seriously canā€™t beat this place for the price!

Adequate Stay
The bed and pillows were comfortable, but the sheets' elastic was non existent so the bottom sheets would not stay on. The room and bathroom had been remodeled so was pleasing and clean. The pool needs resurfacing, but it was too chilly to use while we were there. There are restaurants within walking distance and a free trolley will pick you up on the street outside. I like that the hotel is small. We were able to park our car right outside our room. We would stay here again if needed, but might opt for a hotel closer to the center of town.

We had a safe, comfortable and pretty roomy place to say, so that's the most important thing. My only 2 "concerns" were that the chairs on the deck were broken in the very middle and the beds were very high, especially for small kids, but i just put pillows on each side under the sheet and they did fine. Overall, we enjohed our stay, the staff was great and accomodating, and many things in Gatlingburg are close enough to walk to, even with kids in tow (but a stroller or wagon would be smart to take too.) Thank you! :)
