I enjoyed my one-night stay in Motel One and it will be on my list if I visit Manchester again. It was super-convenient for me, right opposite Manchester Piccadilly Station, where my train arrived after a less than ideal journey: 2 changes and one stage very delayed, making connections unpredictable - the same going home! I could completely relax in my room so that I was able to enjoy the theatre in the evening: Player Kings at half the extortionate London price. In the morning I was not fit to complete my original plan but remained in the hotel after check out until I felt able to continue. Instead of going straight to the station I walked down Whitmore Street to the Alan Turing Memorial in Sackville Gardens between the University and the Gay Village - very appropriate. It is a short walk from the hotel and had so many visitors during the short time I was there. I sat beside him on his bench. What he would have thought of the girl who sat on his knee I can't imagine! Anyway the hotel gave me all I wanted or needed. The service was impeccable. There were small drawbacks mentioned in other reviews which I agree with: nowhere to leave a case open or put a cup of coffee by the bed, for instance, but nothing that spoiled my stay. The toilets in the lobby were so discreet with such a dark entrance that I hardly dared to venture in and the music volume occasionally got very loud for no apparent reason, but I was comfortable there with good wifi until I was able to move on.

Great room, though not many channels on the TV. Bathroom was very clean, bed was comfortable, room was quiet. Right next to Piccadilly station so lots of fast food nearby and a free bus to get closer to all the Manchester amenities. Would stay here again
