I gave this a good only because of the reception staff especially Anna and Ben who were particularly kind and helpful. The hotel was a great location and had a gym which we used . But our room was dirty and not cleaned even when we put out the please do our room sign on our door. We only got refreshments coffee and tea etc on our first day and we were staying three nights . Our room was not cleaned and the beds were not made and we had to ask reception for toilet roll to be replenished , new towels and coffee and tea. Ur buns were spilling over in our room as they weren’t changed . The reception has to give us the things we needed and they did this and apologised politely to us and said they would report this about the house keeping problems . The reception staff made our stay lovely and helped us know where to go . Anna and Ben were superb at reception. We met Anna on the first day when we checked in . She was so friendly and helpful . I would come again gif this reason and would hope the house keeping staff would improve by the next time we come . We would be out all day hoping that our room had been cleaned when we returned but it was not everytime and they had gone by the time we were able to inform reception. Reception staff are your stars Royal Station hotel . Please reward them especially Anna and Ben . Thank you . We loved Newcastle

Royal Station Hotel Newcastle
The hotel is in a good location and is a lovely old building. Some aspects of the room were a little shabby but I appreciate tht this is because of the age of the property. Overall a pleasant stay and friendly staff. I felt the parking was very expensive when you are staying at the hotel £19.50 a night is a big expense on top of the hotel bill.

It was a really lovely stay, perfect location and friendly staff. The room was clean and cosy although very dark, bed not that comfortable but ok for one night. There were few plugs, so if you need them for work would consider an extension lead. The reception was beautiful, wonderful Christmas decorations. If you have trouble sleeping would not stay here as very loud and busy location. I would stay again, overall excellent.

We have stayed in Station Hotel a lot and it’s our favourite. Staff ace and the hotel is so central in every way. Prices are negotiable and fairly decent . Feel at home there ❤️

Good position next to the station sort of midway between shops and keyside. Staff great, only gripe is paying £19.50 to park for guests is too much and would probably mean I’ll look elsewhere to stay next time

Chose this hotel due to it's location right next to the Railway station, however, due to Storm Darragh, we were not able to travel by train. This is one of the reasons for 4 stars ~ Parking. The Hotel has very limited parking which is costly. The Railway station car park is large but the spaces are small. If you have anything bigger than a Fiat 500, it's a tight squeeze. So many cars must be dented by people trying to get in/out of vehicles. Many cars take up two spaces. There is no pricing anywhere advising you of parking charges. The hotel is nice. The room we stayed in is in need of some TLC (second reason for 4 stars) and as the City Centre traffic is so busy, there is constant outside noise......the hotel do provide ear buds! Overheard some guests complaining about the size of their Rooms. The young guys at breakfast had everything running smoothly. Very attentive. Good choice of food. Didn't check out the leisure facilities. Would stay again but hopefully travel by train. If driving, we would chose somewhere else.
