Kemp's cottage is a two Bedroom suite, situated in a quiet, oceanfront retreat on a natural, dune property with the pristine beaches of Anastasia Island. A perfect place for the person that enjoys walks through a natural environment. It is located south of historic St. Augustine, the nation's oldest city. A cottage with a full kitchen, HD TV, 50 mbps wireless internet, queen sleeper sofa and more. Enjoy beautiful white sand beaches with swimming, surfing, fishing, barbecue in a private, natural setting. We also supply beach towels, beach umbrellas, beach chairs, small cooler, carts to tote down the path to the beach walkover and much more.

With only 1 cottage and 3 suites on the entire oceanfront property, it feels like your own, private tropical escape. When you follow the 2 minute long path to the beach you'll come across many native plants and will get to know the original residents of the land including the gopher tortoise, the wildlife that their burrows support, the monarch butterflies as they migrate, and many species of birds. Nice place to stay
Nice quiet place with great lanscaping and little "nature" walk to the beach. Beach chairs, boogie boards and umbrella provided. We had a great time.

A bit of old Florida with all the comforts
The Silver Sands is such a gem! Nestled on the edge of a plant-filled dune, the modern clean rooms and the natural setting create a truly relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The owners have anticipated every need, so not only are beach towels provided, but also a bag to carry them to the beach and a small cooler for snacks and drinks! We were having an early anniversary celebration and were delighted to find a chilled bottle of bubbly in the refrigerator. The setting is not only perfect for human visitors, but allows the natural residents to thrive. We were thrilled to see two gopher tortoises (one large and one small) and their burrows! Our favorite feature was the walk to the beach, through the vine tunnel and over the sandy dune path - even at night with the in ground lighting, this walk was inviting and delightful!

This is our second stay at Kemp's cottage this year. Although there are houses all up and down the beach, the beach is not at all crowded and is very wide at low tide. All types of beach gear was provided (e.g., chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, beach toys, etc. Staff is very friendly and not at all intrusive. We will be back.

We stayed in the Kemp Cottage. The cottage was quaint, clean relaxing. Had all the amenities to cook inside and out. Bathroom clean and simple. Bedrooms clean and bed was comfortable. Loved the ambiance of area; quiet and cozy. The walkway path to the beach was very short and the beach was fantastic! The beach to yourself. Very serine. The Kemp Cottage is the first unit when you drive in and you don’t hear the cars on the road. I look forward to staying there again and hopefully for one week. We stayed two nights.

This property is more than I could have ever expected! It’s absolutely perfect for a family vacation. The rooms were so spacious with very comfy beds and plenty of draws/ hanging for your things. The unit has a washer and dryer for your convenience which was so helpful to me with my 3 kids under 6! The kitchen was very well equipped, the beautiful patio was an added bonus! They supply cleaning products, soap/ shampoo/conditioner, laundry detergent, garbage bags, first aid kit, beach chairs, umbrellas, kids beach toys, beach wagons- I could go on and on about how much the unit had for us to use. It’s really very generous of them. The staff was so welcoming and always around asking if we needed anything. The walk to the beach was stunning! It has lush greenery, a sand path that leads to stairs and an outdoor shower/ foot washing station to clean off your belongings and well as yourself. The beach there is incredible. You’ll feel as though you have your own private beach! So overall this cottage was perfect. It was clean, convenient, great staff, easy check in/check out. We can’t wait to go back!

We celebrated with family and friends my son’s nearby college graduation at the Silver Sands. We stayed 5 days in Kemp’s Cottage, Monarch and Hawksbill. Each unit was unique. All were clean, updated, and comfortable. We enjoyed the beach, often felt like we had it all to ourselves! The pathway to the beach is lush and we saw gopher tortoises. We ate and shopped locally and also saw a rocket launch from beach. We will absolutely be back! Thank you for everything!

Cottage was a friendly stay for a family of 4. Check in process great. Use of beach chair/umbrella appreciated. Linens were clean & abundant. Beach access was wonderful! A/C worked great. No coffee included. Washing machine and dishwasher were a little dirty, coated with white powder. No tv in master. Overall a nice place to stay, would defiantly recommend.

Excellent beach stay outside Saint Augustine
The place is about 20 minute drive south of St Augustine, along A1 on the ocean side. There are several buildings/apartments within Silver Sands, not sure how many are actually rented. Kemp's cottage is the first on the left as you enter the driveway. Easy to get in and out with a designated parking space. Large clean specious 2-bedroom. Very comfy beds. Well stocked kitchen. Large family room with TV. Washer/dryer. The only draw back is 1 bathroom, so the 4 of us had to share. But literally, this was the only drawback. The Office staff was great (we asked for extra shampoo which they gladly supplied). Short walk to the beach. My 80 year old mother had fun climbing the dune to get to the beach, but if you have a person in your party who has trouble walking, the dune may be a tough obstacle. The cottage provided a beach bag, coolers and 2 umbrellas (awesome!), and there were communal beach chairs on the way to the beach. There are no restaurants/entertainment within easy walking, but everything is within a short drive. Overall 5 out 5 stay. Thank you.

Very nice however
Difficult getting down to beach after stairs stopped. Appliances might need to be replaced, particularly the dishwasher. Most of mugs , small bowls on the top rack did not get cleaned. The refrigerator was ok but was often really loud.

Lovely cottage and great location
We had a great 10 days at this lovely cottage. Great location for walks on the beach and short drives to interesting hikes and sights. The cottage was supplied with all we needed, and the bed was comfortable. The only negatives were the noise from the traffic on the road and there was no view of the ocean from the small windows. Still well worth it and we would return.

Annual Vacation
I have returned to Silver Sands for many, many years. My late husband and I were married on the beach there! The accommodations are perfect and we love the shed that provides all of our beach necessities. The cottages provide everything for my family to prepare meals, do laundry, and towels for the beach. Our Florida family comes to visit and they always love SS as much as we do.

My trip to Silver Sands
Overall very impressed and happy with the property. A couple of suggestions would be to add a TV to the master bedroom, i would move the main TV and get a larger one for the living room area. Fan in the master bedroom was not working and would have been useful during the stay.
