This city hotel offers a prime location and an extremely positive experience. We stayed for three nights leading up to the Saturday before Australia Day and were impressed by the warm welcome upon arrival, with our luggage promptly taken care of. Pre-booking parking and breakfast proved to be convenient and hassle-free. However, our city-side room on the 8th floor offered a rather uninspiring view. We recommend paying a premium for a room with park views for a more enjoyable stay. The breakfast buffet, while enjoyable, can become quite crowded during peak hours. Service can be slow, and we occasionally needed to remind staff about our tea & coffee orders. The bar menu lacked variety, although the room service menu offered a more extensive selection. Unfortunately, the wine list for room service was somewhat limited. Despite these very minor drawbacks, we would certainly consider staying at this hotel again, but we would prioritize booking a room with park views.

Staff are not well trained - either at Reception, in the bar or at breakfast. Reception staff told me that my credit card would probably not work because it had ‘eftpos’ written on the back. I’ve never been told this in my life. And it did work. Checking in took a lot longer than it should have. The bar staff did not know what red wines were available. The restaurant staff pushed in front of guests several times and and insisted on sitting me right up the back even though plenty of other empty tables were available. The room had plantation shutters on about 7 windows. All of these let in copious amounts of light all night. The TV kept playing up and the screen going black. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very spacious. I was told my bag would be sent to my room upon check-in, but it wasn’t. I couldn’t find the bath mat in the bathroom. It was hidden under the vanity, right at the back.

The Restaurant was amazing would come back again for that alone. I loved the Christmas decorations from the moment I walked through the doors I had a smile on my face. The one negative was the checking process and a mixup of rooms. Will definitely be back.

Reception staff always busy, you have to wait 15-20 minutes to be able to check in or out, or to speak to a person. The room was good though at a low level with no view, not worth $1,068 for 2 nights.

The staff were incredible. The location is wonderful. What i was disappointed with was a faulty down light over the bed that didn't turn off properly which made sleeping difficult.

Reception was lovely and accommodating I arrived a bit early they managed to find me a room without having to wait. Unfortunately after numerous phone calls to the guest service it took 40 minutes for my bag to arrive..
