We always choose to stay at the Sir Stamford when visiting Sydney. Nice staff, conveniently located and comfortable. Starting to show her age a bit around the edges but I would hate to see a total makeover. The faded glory is part of the charm

We are returning guests and we always receive a warm, friendly welcome from staff !! The hotel is very clean and charming with beautiful marble bathrooms. It is located in a very good location- being close to trains, ferries and Circular Quay!!

My initial experience was marred by my less than welcoming reception, however the Stamford staff were very quick in rectifying this setback in what I can only express as being generous and gracious manner - definitely will be stay there again and recommending the Stamford to friends and family

Faded glamour
A charming quirky hotel with many antique features and some fun touches (eg the plush wombat in the foyer). An atmospheric whisky bar with a fine dining and snacks menu let down by lacklustre service from young staff. In the end I think I prefer the mod cons of streaming TV, a well lit room, a nespresso machine etc. But for anyone pining after genuine faded early 20th century glamour, this is the place. My room was enormous, and the east facing balcony would be brilliant in spring and summer. An incredible location close to the Quay and Opera House.
