We have stayed at many Stamford hotels and this one missed the mark. The furniture wasn’t the same quality. The bed was ok but was no where near as comfortable as other Stamford hotels, not sure if this is due to heavy wear and tear or brand?! Either way left us a bit disappointed as this is one of the reasons we choose Stamford as I have a chronic back issue. On check in we were early and our room wasn’t ready and we were offered another room that was ready for extra $$. We took the room being our day started at 4am and after two flights and 7 hours of travel with chronic back pain,to find we overlooked Mascot airport and a busy highway.
The midnight staff doing the tray collection made sure everyone knew about it!! The amount of noise was ridiculous.I was very close to opening my door and asking them to please quiet down as I had major surgery the next day. We ordered room service as you are not close to anything and I must say the tray came extremely fast. I ordered the Neapolitan spaghetti which was bland and hubby had a pizza which he said was good.
The hotel is a 10 min walk from Sydney domestic airport where you will need the map on your phone for navigation as there is no signage unless you count a faded blue painted ‘hotel’ on the ground that starts half way along your route!!!Overall we suspect the property was formerly a budget hotel that’s been rebadged but that’s just our opinion, and therefore should not be charging Stamford prices. We won’t stay here again.
