The Ultimo is currently undergoing huge renovations. They are adding a third floor! This means putting a crane in the lift well, the only place it can go, and the lift is out of action for the entire duration of the building. This is listed as "months" but in all likelihood will be longer. For two people having had knee replacement surgery it was a struggle to climb to the 1st floor. There was no mention of this that I could see on the wotif website when making the booking. The property overall was good, but this let it down - at least as far as I was concerned. (I wonder if anyone will get in touch with regards to this feedback).

Way overpriced for what it was. There was dirty socks and underwear under the beds and the air conditioning was terrible. Did not keep room ccol. The soap and hair conditioner were empty. For $466, I’ll stay somewhere else

Great location with Darling Harbour and Paddy's Market on your doorstep. Friendly staff were very helpful and accommodating. Our room was recently refreshed and it looks like other parts of the hotel are getting updated.

Staff were very good and welcoming. The location was pretty good as well, short walk to George St and shopping centre. I stayed there with my dog, and it was good. One problem was this particular room was above a shop that has pumps or compressors running 24/7. Didn't notice it too much but still noticeable.

We had a great time with The Ultimo hotel. The staff are very helpful. Our room is cleaned every day. The hotel is couple of minutes walking distance to train central stations, bus stops and light rail stations, China town, Paddy's market and tons of restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff was very nice, got an early check in and the room was quite spacious. I booked for family room for 4 adults and we had 2 king beds which actually can fit for 6. Pretty roomy as we were quite comfortable in this family room. There is a lift to go to our room. The location it self was excellent! Accross Haymarket, Chinatown where you can find abundance of restaurants, cafe and tram rail where it can take you easily to circular quay, operahouse or other areas. Very close to Central station (walking distance). Overall, we were very happy with our stay!
