Old and outdated my room was not cleaned well upon check in my sheets were dirty and two dirty towels were left in my bathroom upon check in. I informed the staff and was told they only provided housekeeping if I was staying more than one night. I reserved for two nights but because the room originally was not cleaned I wanted it to be cleaned I was denied that service

I was in Tampa for party and the hotels that were recommended were very expensive, so I was looking for something more affordable and found this hotel online. Unfortunately, it was not close enough to walk to where my friends were staying, so that was a bummer. They do provide a shuttle bus to take you wherever you want to go within a 2 mile radius, so that was very helpful. The shuttle drivers were so nice and extremely helpful!! I found the hotel itself a bit rundown, outdated and not the cleanest. There was no alarm clock in the room, nowhere to charge your phone either.

This hotel is conveniently located to the riverwalk. That is the only positive. They did not have hot water half the time and their onsite restaurant is completely understaffed. Most of the staff that is there is apathetic, however, Akeem who works the front desk is great. The room smelled like mildew due to the air conditioner and substandard cleaning throughout the hotel. If you have other options, I would recommend staying somewhere else.

It's a mix of the good & bad of past t reviews
I read plenty of reviews before booking and it seems to be a mix of the bad and the good reviews. Pros: VERY comfy bed & pillows, AC gets cold, great water pressure, lots of hot water, nice dual head shower, front desk staff was great, restaurant on premises (good crispy wings & fries), 4 fast elevators. Couldn't hear any hall, other rooms or elevator noise. Shuttle service to anywhere within 2 miles. Roomy parking spots Cons: Carpet in room feels gross, absolutely NO counter space in bathroom, 'some' outdatedness to the room (popcorn ceiling, old looking yellow painted walls), no cold vending machines with drinks (had vending machine with snacks & drinks, but drinks were warm. There was a 'snack' room in lobby with cold drinks, but a 20oz coke was $5. Restaurant doesn't bring food to room and they DO NOT answer the phone, must go downstairs and place order. For me, the pros outweigh the cons. I would stay again.

Good for the money
Entering the lobby feels like you're in a newish contemporary hotel. Once arriving to your floor that feeling changes, at least on the 7th floor. I'm thinking this was a retro fit, nothing wrong with that, in fact I love making use of older buildings. Our room was small but adequate, 2 comfortable queen beds (and linens), large tv, mw, frig and the means to make coffee/tea. The bathroom was small but again, adequate. It was also nicely updated, but really could use comfort height commodes. However, there was an odd odor which lingered, not overpowering but just there. Colors in the hall, at least on 7, are garish: bright yellow and cobalt blue, they could do better with the interior design choices, and could probably command a higher price if they did. I hope they don't as the price is quite good and location convenient. I'm pretty fussy and i would stay here again. BTW, check in/out was a breeze.

Overall, the hotel was clean & quiet. I was in town to attend an event at the Straz center across the street so the location was perfect. While I did not encounter an staff that was rude, I didn't find them to be overly helpful. I asked for the front desk staff to schedule a cab pickup for me. Based on my experiences at hotels similar to this, I thought it would be provided here as well. Wrong; "you have to call them yourself; we don't do that." Nor did they recommend a cab company to use. The restaurant in the hotel is fair at best. Staffed with one waitress & a man who appeared to have the job of bringing the menu to the table & pouring water. He was not intetested in taking drink orders for soda pop. That job fell to the waitress. There was only 1 waitress working on a Sunday mo
