Given disabled room & not advised. Shower curtain too small. Water ends up running across the floor towards the door. Nowhere to put anything in bathroom - one tiny shelf. Nowhere to hang clothes in the room. Only one chair. Not enough parking. Good aircon. Reasonable bed.

Enjoyed our stay here. Staff were lovely and friendly and the room was good! Love the pool area and the property’s location as it’s close to everything. Only little problem we had was that the air conditioner wasn’t working very well in our room which we didn’t discover until we went to bed late at night after an event we attended. It still worked but just didn’t get very cold.

Lovely resort with great facilities and dining options. Staff were helpful and exceptionally friendly. Great location with secure parking. Villa itself is a little run down. Air conditioners don’t work very well so it was quite uncomfortable in that respect however the villa provided ample space for our family with multiple beds, showers and toilets. Overall, we enjoyed our short stay, thank you.

The hotel rooms are directly adjacent to the rooftop restaurant, which gets loud and can stay loud very late into the night. Multiple nights we were woken by yelling and people running past our door. The rooms are small and only suitable for more than one person if they are very close. The bathroom/shower area has no privacy, so we frequently left the room while the other was showering. There's a small underground parking garage suitable for compact cars. I had a full-size three- row SUV, and scraped the frame a couple times entering and exiting the steep ramp. Prices are what you would expect for the area. It's a few blocks from the Strand (easy walking) and avoids higher prices. Very close to the ferries to Magnetic Island. Staff are friendly. Food in the restaurants is good. Pool looks nice, although we didn't use it. Separating the rooms from restaurant parties would go a long way towards making this a hidden gem. A door (even a curtain) would certainly help the privacy issue with the bathroom.

We stayed at the Rambutan while I was competing in the Duathlon world championships in Townsville. The night before my race, the hotel hosted two parties on their rooftop common area (a bachelorette party and a wedding reception). This area is right by the hotel rooms and we were not informed that either of these events would be taking place in advance. We were initally told there was no space for us to eat at the restaurant that night (which we had planned on for logistical simplicity with my race) and the noise from the partying hosted by the hotel woke me up multiple times after midnight, which was really unfortunate for my races the next day. We let the front desk know upon checkout and they acknowledged that they had received several complaints about the noise and said all they could do was offer us free coffees at the restaurant for the trouble. At a very minimum I would have expected the hotel to inform us that they would be hosting parties in the common areas that are within earshot of the private rooms. If I had known this was going to be scheduled the night before my race I would have made accommodations elsewhere.

Good central location, spacious room and good value for money. Some noise from bar/pool area outside room, property a bit run down and definitely not 5 star. Car park difficult to find on road behind property, on a very steep decline which scratched our vehicle.

Townsville must have won the Grand Final on the day we stayed. There were revellers partying till midnight around the rooftop pool and bar three millimetres from our unit door, after which they all moved to the street screaming yelling and vomiting until 4am. Never again.

Built on to an old building, it has some defects, eg lift has potential to break down. Very noisy as nearly all apartments are around pool and bar.

The rooms are quite small, which is why they didn't get an excellent rating. A king sized bed doesn't leave much space when a couple with a suitcase each are occupying the room.

Unfortunately for us as over 80’s. Parking and access was a disaster. A very, very steep drive to the underground parking was beyond me - driving a borrowed car. Extremely steep stairs from the upstairs parking were beyond us - let alone carrying luggage down. The lovely general manager JR or RJ drove and parked the van and helped with luggage
