I was there for the York Christmas Market. The price was extortionate. The Christmas decorations were lackluster and no Christmas atmosphere. The staff were good but seemed to lack professional training in communicating with clients. The food choices were basic. The beds were not to the usual Hilton standard. Parking is in the local car parks.

Perfect night away!
Perfect location, easy check in, lovely staff. Bar was priced as you’d expect a hotel bar but service was exceptional. Room was very clean, well laid out, view of the river and castle. Would definitely stay again Remember, this does day parking available, the Shambles car park is not far away at all though

Really good hotel if your visiting York, it is nearby to all the main attractions and sight seeing areas. The hotel offers breakfast included, which isn’t just continental, it serves full English which was an added bonus! The hotel is spacious with nice large seating area in the lobby with bar attached. The room we had was a Queen bed with additional sofa bed, the room was clean, fresh and contemporary with a nice bathroom and large shower. Only complaint is that the sofa bed is very hard and uncomfortable to lie on but for 2 nights it’s manageable. The hotel is feels safe and secure and offers luggage store and gym facilities. I would definitely stay here again if visiting York.

Staff clueless when fire alarm went off
Hotel good but fire alarm after midnight. Staff didn't have a clue what to do. No fire marshalls and no information on what to do / where to go etc. We would have been in a lot of trouble if it had been a real fire not someone having a cigarette in their room or steam from the kettle (told two different stories).

The best thing about this hotel is the reception staff. All were friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. They are a great asset! Location is great too.

We chose Hampton by Hilton on price, knowing that it would be a modern and clean hotel with good facilities and it did not disappoint. Close enough to walk to everywhere we wanted in York although a bit of a schlep from the station with luggage initially. Would stay there again for sure
