Bed was too hard and low, pillows bumpy or flat, duvet too heavy so didn't get a good night sleep. Door frame doesn't fit frame so all night could see the landing light this never got switched off. Was in a room with low ceiling, bumped my head at least 3 times, stopped counting. I am only 5ft! TV doesn't work, and finally the shower is too small can't turn around to wash never mind swing a cat. Shower was warm then suddenly very cold. This guest house needs a lot of attention to sort it out. Only good thing it's quite and in a good location. Sorry I wouldn't come back here

Guest house had just changed owners confusion over my booking not sure if the new owners had any idea about running a guesthouse breakfast was totally confusing and you had to eat quickly as you only had so long to eat. Need to get their act together to stay in business would not recommend at the moment

Arrived with friendly greeting checked in then on to my attic room at top which was quite small but did have ensuite shower. For York good value for money B and B but quite dated although friendly staff and decent breakfast helped

lovely clean hotel, breakfast and parking. Amazing
Great hotel in a central location with parking and breakfast. We even got early check in! We were Very happy. The room was lovely and clean with everything we needed. It also had an additional heater which we were happy about as there was a storm and it snowed when we stayed.

The property was very tired and room was terrible, you could write your name in the dust in the bedroom, carpet in the room need a good clean and vacuum, chairs in the dining room had holes in them, one good point was the breakfast really good, but no way is this a 3star guest house , breakfast staff very nice but would never stay here again

Comfortable, but didn't feel 'homely'
I was a little annoyed at being contacted several times on the day before and the day of arrival asking what time we would be arriving. When travelling 200+ miles on the British roads this is difficult to estimate! This turned out to be because the host wanted to disappear by 17:15 When we did arrive we were ushered upstairs into a reception room and sat down. Then we were read th rules and breakfast order was taken. Fely a bit like an interrogation. Our breakfast was served as soon as we sat down (at the pre-booked time), but there wasn't much opportunity to ask for extra teabags/milk for the room as the staff disappeared sharpish. Our stay worked out okay and it is in a convenient location for access to York centre.

The 2 staff ladies friendly and she cooked me tastly hot, no fuss ,wholesome food breakfast . Only need to put extractor works again in bathroom as inclosed, no window , very comfy and warm room, happy traveller .
