Beautiful area, beautiful home, great stay
We stayed 3 days 11/10-11/13. We were immediately impressed by the house. It was sparkling clean, beautifully decorated down to a wonderful Christmas tree programmed to light at 5PM and stay on 5 hours. Made for a wonderful ambiance. We had a couple of issues maintenance related but both Joe and Judy responded immediately to get those things taken care up. They are very friendly and kind owners. We enjoyed talking to them. The only sad thing is that the weather was crappy! It was very cold with wind and snow flurries therefore we couldn’t take advantage of the gorgeous back deck. We did watch all the wildlife from the kitchen windows and loved it. I feel certain we will return when we have a short get away need.

Beautiful scenery, spacious property, conventient
The cottage was very spacious and had everything you would want/need. Loved the screened in porch. Hosts were very accommodating and gracious. Due to the hurricane, most of Abington was out of power, and they went above and beyond to get us lanterns. The location was very convenient to Abington and scenery was gorgeous.

"Almost heaven..."
Convenient to all things Abingdon and state parks. Situated on a secluded road that afforded star gazing opportunity as well as encounters with deer and cattle! We ate our breakfasts on the screened porch which is the size of a large family room! We chose to eat dinner one night so that we could observe wildlife at dusk. Hosts provided some snacks, bottled water, ground coffee and filters. There is Keurig as well but you need to bring your own pods. Bathroom was beautifully provisioned including ample towels. The whole experience said"Welcome and enjoy" I stayed with a friend for 3 nights, returning from Kentucky to see the local sights befire driving home to Virginia Beach. We would love to return. and boand bottled water. dusk.eat dinnerwell

A hidden jewel!
This home is a hidden jewel. It had everything we needed for our 9-night stay. It's location, near Abington, was convent to all the activities we planned to visit during our stay. It is also very close to I-81 which allows a quick trip to Bristal should you want to visit or dine out there. We have stayed at more than 25 VBRO locations. Although not a fancy home. All things considered...this property and the gracious owners rank among our top 10.

We came to Abingdon for the Dam Yeti 50 and picked the perfect place to stay. It was clean, comfortable and located close to the finish line! We enjoyed sitting on the screened-in porch and race planning, and the day after we enjoyed the recliners to put our feet up!

AMAZING Stay
My husband and I stayed to attend the Appalachian Trail Days. The cottage was absolutely amazing. It was so clean, so well equipped! The cottage was in the country, really quiet. It has an amazing screened in back deck that over looked fields of hay and a cow pasture. I was so glad that we got to meet Judy and Joe. Wonderful couple! We loved staying there and hope to be able to go back again.

We really enjoyed this property. It was just as pictured and described—clean and uncluttered, well-equipped kitchen, great living spaces, comfortable beds. The house is located in a beautiful setting just a few minutes drive from Abingdon, where we enjoyed the Farmers Market and a performance at the Barter Theatre. We look forward to staying again!

Joe and Judys Cottage was wonderful ! everything was just as pictured in their VRBO listing. their place was extremely clean and the setting was just lovely and peaceful. Even though it was rather cold and rainy we went out on the back porch to enjoy that serene view. Joe even dropped by extra water for us and told us if we needed anything just to let them know, but we did not need to contact them because everything we needed was already there !We had a wonderful time and hope to go back soon. Thank you Judy and Joe for sharing your cottage with us , we appreciated everything😊

4-night stay in Abingdon countryside
I like the fact that the property is out in the country but only a short distance from the town of Abingdon and the interstate. We used it to take day trips and hikes, including to Mount Rogers area and on the Virginia Creeper Trail. We also saw a play at the Barter Theater. Real close to that. Good place, only downside is that it was too cold to sit out on the porch - we were a little late for that.
