We have stayed at many VRBO properties, but this was our first disappointing experience. The house had plenty of room for the seven of us, with comfortable furniture and beds. The location was convenient and close to everything we needed. However, we encountered several issues that were surprising given the positive reviews: Safety Concerns: Loose front deck railing Open junction boxes with exposed wiring throughout the house Unsafe pool deck with multiple patches, holes, and rotted boards Loose pool deck railing Incomplete Renovations: The half bathroom on the main floor had a rug covering what seemed to be a removed tub or shower, with exposed plumbing behind a picture. Open junction boxes and poorly done piping were visible. Similar issues with open junction boxes were found in the main bedroom bathroom and other rooms. The lower-level family room had an inoperable drum set in poor condition and a damaged pole from ceiling to floor. Maintenance Issues: Front deck chairs needed repair Pool deck furniture needed a thorough cleaning Pool needed cleaning Tiki torches had no fluid and couldn't be used None of the mattresses had covers, and some were heavily stained Additionally, there was no guidebook for accessing the internet, using the TVs, or other features of the house. We tried to contact Butch via email twice but never received a response. Overall, this property has a lot of potential and could be a great rental with some professionally done repairs and updates.

Great space near Carbondale
Stayed with a group of friends for a wedding nearby. Property was clean and accurate to the online listing. Wish the weather would have been nice enough to use the pool space! Check in and out were smooth processes and communication with the property manager was super easy. Would recommend.

Everything was good. It is recommended to put a ceiling fan in the bedroom downstairs because it was pretty stuffy down there. I also think a hand railing could be of benefit on the stairs going to the lower level. I would consider staying at this property again.

Quiet retreat close to town
My two daughters and their small children joined us for a family get together at this midway point. The kids loved the pool, and the ping pong table in the basement was an added bonus. The kitchen was well appointed and our host was accommodating. Overall a great stay. Just one note - we had a very curious and active 13 month old baby in our party. The open staircase to the basement and a large open vat on the deck were constant safety concerns for her. Great house for older kids, but be prepared if you have a toddler in your group.

Great space and location - little bit of miscommunication on check in
The property itself is really nice and space is excellent. If you are needing a space to accommodate 5-8ish this is a good option. Well-kept but it may be worth sending messages the day or so before your stay to ensure that the owner knows you are coming. We showed up and there was somebody else currently staying in the residence. The owner did everything possible to remedy the situation immediately though and our stay was great otherwise.

Great property. We had 2 families (4 adults & 4 kids) Pool was the highlight of our trip. Pool was clean our entire stay. House was clean, open space. The kitchen table allowed us to all eat together. Kids loved the ping pong table in the basement. Giant City State park was a quick drive. Would suggest bringing extra outside chairs for sitting on the deck (if you have more than 5 people & planning on being outside all at once). Also WiFi was a little slow, but fine for vacation mode.

This house is just so cool and well done. The owner is a super nice guy and very responsive. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The ping pong table in the basement was fun. This house is in a great location too - close to tons of great hiking!

Perfect!
We are so happy we picked this place for the long weekend!!! My family went to the area to spread the ashes of my father who passed away so it was often an overwhelming and emotional trip... but this property felt like home which made things easier. The property was clean and well appointed and the layout was spacious and comfortable. The property itself was on a quiet peaceful piece of land with some curious wildlife that we would wake up to (deer and rabbits and raccoons at night) so it was so nice to be able to come back to this place and be able to relax and just enjoy the space. With the back of the property being heavily wooded we got to feel like we were secluded and out with nature without truly being out in the middle of nowhere. We had some visitors come by and they thought the property was great too so we all plan to come back for family vacations once or twice a year. Couldn’t have picked a better place! Highly recommend and I’m a very picky person!!!
