The experience and stay was wonderful for a good nights rest after a long international flight. Especially the breakfast. But we heard elevator music from the lobby all night long, even on the 9th floor. Outside car traffic noise was to be expected since a busy intersection around LAX.

Called for shuttle. “Wait at red sign” what does sign say? “Holiday Inn” it did not. Was generic shuttle pick up. Not fun to find spot at 1:30 am with incorrect info. Nothing worked in room. Phone instructions out of date and time wasting. Bathtub slippery and would not drain. Coffee undrinkable. Breakfast dried out and badly prepared (except yummy omelette). Staff, most of them, lovely and hard working. LAX only reason to stay here if you can’t get in elsewhere.

The cleaning staff was extremely unprofessional and noisy in the hallways. I tried to rest a bit later the next day after arriving from Boston, but it was simply impossible, even with the “Do Not Disturb” sign on my door. It actually seemed like they got louder because of it. One of them even made a mocking comment about someone trying to sleep until late at a hotel, likely not expecting that I could understand her language, which I did. Overall, the hotel is “okay” if you don’t mind dealing with situations like this. I’m only sharing this because, even though it’s a budget hotel, I expected the staff to behave more professionally.

We must have been in a ADA room, because the door was supposed to open using a hydraulic system that didn't work. It was the heaviest door I have ever opened. The coffee maker didn't work, and the lights went on automatically when you walked by to go to the bathroom, waking up my sister in the other bed. And the beeping of the shuttle every 1/2 hour was so annoying, I hardly slept. The shuttle doesn't come every 1/2 hour as said, and they stopped at the Hilton and picked up 30 tourists with their suitcases. There weren't any seats for them, so they stood in the aisle with bags. When we got to the airport, the driver forgot to stop at Southwest and I had to shout for him to let me out so I could walk back to my stop. But what do you want for a cheap room. It had that going for it. At least I didn't/t pay too much.
