Close to red woods and cultural experience. Pool and spa was good. For the price I did think the room was a bit ordinary, shower over bath and old and outdated. Wall appears to be coming away at the base of the window sill.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room was lovely and big. Comfy beds, hot shower, heaps of towels, coffee pod machine. Pool was great, spa was lovely. Laundry handy. Good little gift shop. Didn’t eat at Rydges as too expensive - $65pp. Hard to find somewhere reasonable to eat in Rotorua, everything overpriced and very touristy.

We felt welcolmed the moment we arrived. The service and rooms were excellent. A lovely place overall to stay whilst your checking out the wonderful sights in Rotourua.

The hotel was fine and staff very welcoming. Unfortunately our room was very dirty. Toilet not cleaned, floors and surfaces still very dirty and rubbish on the floor. The housekeeper who came to fix was lovely though. On closer look after she left, it was obvious some things hadn’t been cleaned for quite a while.

Massive hotel. Staff excellent. Tidy n clean . I was most surprised it did not have wider range of cable/ sky like CNN, fox, BBC news for such a major quality brand hotel. At check out they were insisting my accom had not been paid which created some anxiety ( happens a lot when I book via wotif) Eventually they discovered it had been paid.

all good. A tip re GPS.
We had a deluxe room, so i can't speak for standard. But ours was fine, everything worked, nice bed, brekky good. the only thing is don't put "rydges" into your GPS, put the street address, as the GPS will take you to the old Rydges about a km away.

Why would you keep a hotel running when you know the air-conditioning system is not functioning for days? And no apologies at all? First I was put in a room where the sun hits the room all afternoon. Within 30 minutes of checking in, me and my family were sweating. I was moved to another room which was 'okay' in the afternoon but we just could not sleep at night. This is just not how customers are treated. We are here in NZ from the US on a week long holiday and the first two nights we just did not sleep. AVOID AT ALL COST.

I was most impressed with the hotel staff. They were friendly, very accommodating and handled special requests quickly and without hesitation. We had a really nice stay there and they had two hot tubs and a pool that we took advantage of.
