Beautiful catle with an interesting hisotry. It was nice that we could freely walk around and explore the castle. Some updates to the carpet and furniture in the rooms would be helpful, as well as putting out the cushions for the outdoor seating areas, but overall a wonderful cadtle experience.

I knew what to expect coming in so wasn't as surprised as some others I spoke with while staying.The hotel seems in need of a few upgrades in rooms. The bed was extremely comfy but of two very very old chairs one had a tear in the seat and the other was propped in a corner broken lol. The pretty antique table was wobbling so they removed it to fix (never saw again) pool is lovely and peaceful and relaxing as are the grounds. David at the front desk was very helpful. Little things like the garbage in the breakfast room spilling over for more than 24 hours I was amazed no one noticed. As previously stated breakfast is an underwhelming array of worse than entenmans pastries, litte gross muffins, although there is fruit, bagels, croissant present. I asked a lot of questions and it seems that staff onsite are constrained in choice by higher powers who seem to be making BAD choices where an obvious choice is so simple! Eg buy high end pastries for a high end hotel or use a local caterer/baker. People pay enough,They can afford to do this at the least regardless of the restaurant being what I think will be closed a long time. In addition the hot tub was totally closed which was also a poor choice by whatever corporate entity is making these decisions. Listen up folks....People usually only have a big wedding once, but if people love your hotel theyll return over and over. Stop putting so much energy into venue events and more to getting repeat visitors. Overall Relaxing

The hotel, rooms, and grounds are amazing and well kept. Feels like you are miles from NYC while you are only minutes away. Only negative is the food. There is no restaurant on site and breakfast was items you can buy from 7/11 (except the fresh fruit).

This property has a special feeling; the management has done nicely making you feel that you are staying at a castle. The spa is being renovated, so there wasn't availability of this, but perhaps there could be an agreement with another spa for services. One notable item though, is the lack of food availability. Given this nicely decored/appointed facility, it's really glaring that there are not staff dedicated to a restaurant; perhaps more of a breakfast would help, as much of what is available is what you would find at a convenience store (except the fruit- it was indeed fresh). I would still overall recommend the hotel- the staff is very helpful and pleasant and the grounds are lovely. I look forward to the re-opening of the spa and perhaps an eatery.

The Castle Hotel was booked as a SPA and resort! The Spa and restaurant were closed! The hotel said the discounted the rooms and did not charge resort fees! We asked for a printout of the bill and was told it was 525 for tonight’s but Expedia charged us 775 dollars which included the resort fees. The rooms and decore are very nice but the air conditioner barely kept up with the heat outdoors. Our shower backed up the toilet plugged and overflowed. They offered a plunger. No staff around to clean. This is a castle on beautiful grounds but should not be operating if they cannot guarantee basic hygiene. The staff said they could not talk to Expedia and complained about management! There are many castles in the US to stay in, skip this one.

The rooms (we rented two) are gorgeous, clean and comfortable. That said the ability to make phone calls (on our cell phones) from either room was impossible. Though the hotel had wifi (which I could only connect to in one of the rooms), for some reason neither our Apple or Android phones could make calls over it. Very frustrating to say the least. The restuarant and spa being close is also a shame as I'd heard good things about both.
