Dated but a decent hotel
The rooms are dated and could use a update. Other than the bathroom being cold and a couple missed cob webs overall place was clean. The restaurant was nice and the food and staff were good.
I keep coming back to the Cotswold Garden because it is the best in Armidale in facilities, service, food, & value. John runs an excellent motel which would rate anywhere.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Bed was very comfortable, great shower and room service meals very good.

No Refund for Me : (
I didnt get to use the three rooms I booked at this motel due to the cylone debbie.
I had booked three rooms for my family and couldnt get there due to flooding and told not entitle to refund : (
Very disappointed.
A fantastic dining room, tastefully set out, a nice warm open fire with spectacular food on offer. Chef knew his stuff. The wine list was well rounded and counted for all tastes and finances. A good wine selection. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, they are a little dated but this did not detract from the comfort.
I don't understand why more Armidale motels don't have undercover parking when they get so many frosty mornings! This is a major attraction for me at Cotswold Gardens. It's an older motel which has been refurbished so is quite comfy. Not far from the city centre. There's a lounge bar in the main section with a fire during winter. The restaurant does dinner and breakfast, although it's overpriced in my mind. Very nice motel owners.
The staff was friendly. The room was beautiful and clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and large. Old world charm and so close to town.

work
Stayed at the best western for a work trip that i didn't have a lot of time to plan for, so i was pretty happy with what i can book last minute - but as an accom there is nothing special, it is clean, has a bed/bathroom. i didn't spend a lot time there so can't really rate the other components. Although a bit of misunderstanding on the hotel charge upon check-out - since i've booked via hotels.com it was prepaid and the staff insisted that i did not pay. luckily i had a print out to prove my point. have to keep an eye on the creditcard bill for extra charges....

Basic hotel...
Decent place -- nothing particularly special, nothing particularly wrong.
Traveling with my adult son we found it difficult when looking online to find a room with 2 real beds ( not an additive or sofa bed )the hotel provided exactly what we wanted . Extremely comfortable beds with great shower in the large bathroom .
Pleasant one night stay. Room/amenities quite adequate. On main road but did not notice noise. Easy 10 minute walk to hotels with good sporting coverage. I made an error with date of arrival but management were happy to rectify that for me and told us about some points of interest in area. The dining experience was a bit "faulty towers" with incorrect order at first followed by a cold meal - however once rectified the food was pretty good although a little pricey for what it was we thought.
The room was full of bad odder. The bed linen had stains.
Good size bathroom.
Some one should inspect this hotel and make some changes.
Bad reputation for Best western hotel chain
