Great property overall: very fun beach-y hostel vibe. Busy and active front desk and common areas as guests are always around using facilities; of which there are many. Appreciated the free flavored waters and complimentary s'mores sets for roasting by the fire. The board games, ambience and extremely friendly staff. Excellent location being steps from the beach and Main Street. The room however, while appears updated and trendy, is not up to Kimpton cleaning standards. The carpet was full of dust and debris. The table had crumbs and dust all over. Pillows had hair on them. The washroom was the worst offender with stark white tiles you could see all the hair from the previous guests all over the floor and the grating was turning yellow and orange. Towels also had hair in them from previous guests. Shower floor was also dirty and the controls to use it were broken, had to guess how much to turn it etc. for hot and cold water. Not to mention, the shower was so big, but the shower head was a rinky dinky little one that did not suit the washroom at all. Other than cleanliness and a broken shower, it is a fun property to stay at.

We loved the surfing theme decor and laid back beach music playing in the lobby. Our room was so comfortable and seemed like a room in a beach house instead of a hotel. There was a turntable with a 60s album on the dresser; we enjoyed hearing those old songs. The hotel hosted a free happy hour daily and provided kits to make s’mores on the fire pits in the outside patio area. The staff were all so friendly and made us feel so welcome. It was in a great location with the beach right across the street with many good restaurants in walking distance.it was a wonderful place to stay while visiting our son and daughter-in-law in Huntington Beach. Highly recommend!

The Kimpton Shorebreak was a wonderful hotel with the perfect vibe for Huntington Beach. We loved the open air, courtyard, lobby, and restaurant. We could see everything going on in the heart of town right from our room. We walked to amazing restaurants for breakfast lunch and dinner. We lived using the free bikes! We booked the suite with two king beds, and it was wonderfully spacious for our family of four. We thoroughly enjoyed the free cocktails in the evening and s’mores for the kids. Great location is the main reason to stay here. They could improve on customer service by always having 2 people behind the counter. I'd prefer to have the coffee in my room than down in the lobby.

Excellent Hotel with great staff. Gym is very good if you are into that. Social hour, free coffee and s'mores are a nice touch. Location is great with many dining options within walking distance. The HB pier is 1 minute away. Also, they have many beach items that they will gladly give you to use as well as rental bikes!
