Check-in was a delight since we were warmly greeted and also given some helpful tips about area restaurants as well as information regarding hotel amenities that were available for us. Our initial impression was that it was different in a positive way. Felt quaint & cozy. After dinner and light touring of the area and various stores, we could hardly wait to get back for a night of popcorn & movie time. So, comfortable and a welcome rest for us after our cruise. Thankful to all the hotel staff for their kind hospitality.

Great boutique hotel in a perfect location!
Great location, very friendly staff, free coffee and cookies and apples. Hotel is old but well maintained. Beds are only doubles and very soft so you tend to roll into the middle which makes it a bit squishy! But everything else is fantastic!

Come to San Francisco a lot to visit our daughter. Never stayed here in the past 18 years. I like the location and the room. Bathroom is too small but that’s a minor inconvenience for the price I paid.

Fantastic location
Friendly, clean and well located hotel. We were greeted personally by the staff and really felt welcomed. Coffee, water and cookies in the lobby were appreciated. The hotel had an agreement with the parking garage across the street and the price was better than any other downtown hotel.

Hotel workers strike nearby. It was very noisy throughout the day and into the evening. Other than that we had a pleasant stay and appreciated the convenient location of the hotel plus the complimentary water, apples and cookies in the lobby.

The Chancellor is extremely clean and well maintained. We have stayed there quite a few times. The staff is excellent. There were strikes going on at several of the other hotels in the area that created a lot of noise, this is not the Chancellors fault. We also saw several drug overdoses in the area of Union Square. A lot of the businesses in the area have very visible private security, but San Francisco PD is notably absent. Again, not the Chancellors fault, but the City of San Franciso's fault.

This hotel was amazing. For one, they have complimentary cookies, coffee, and tea available. The staff was attentive and nice as well. The location was also convenient because it was right next to a cable car pickup station and less than 500 feet from another one. Only that sucked was that they gave us a 2 for 1 drink coupon and on said coupon it said they were open from Monday- Sunday, 4:30-9:30, but then they were closed Sunday and Monday so we couldn’t use it. Overall still loved it, will definitely be coming back.
