Cleanliness: 2☆ From the start, there was a thick layer of dust atop the toilet paper holder and the toilet. I wiped down these surfaces and the pull-out table in the bedroom area myself. There was some grime that had built-up around the crevices of the kitchenette. I was a little put-off by this, and used towels to cover these surfaces before placing down my own articles. Staff & Service: 5☆ Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. Upon check-in, staff was thorough in explaining trash collection, accessing the property after hours, etc. Property Condition & Facilities: 3☆ I was grateful I could do lots of laundry for very cheap during my stay. My room had a bed that pulled down from the wall directly in the middle and a bit difficult to navigate. I had to juggle one suitcase on one side of the bed and climb over the bed to access and organize another. Area Around the Property: 5☆ The hotel is a minute walk from the station. It is a very quick transfer from the JK line to the JY line. There is also a koban right in-between the two, so the area felt quite safe. There is also a 7-Eleven right across the street. Overall: 3.75☆ of 5☆ This is an acceptable budget hotel, especially if you're just looking for a place to rest for the evening that isn't a capsule hotel or hostel. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. I reccomend this place for solo travelers like myself who don't mind being a little outside the tourist spots.

I liked that it was as minimalist as I imagined for the price. It being immediately next to the subway line was very convenient. Some people might not like the occasional train going by. The water for the shower was kinda lukewarm though a couple of times.

Very nice place, the rooms are cozy and cost effective. I do wish there was a grocery store nearby, since the rooms have a little kitchen, but other than that. The location is quite convenient and not too far from the city center

Really liked this property, lovely staff and right next to Higashi Jujo Station so really easy to get where you want to go each day. All staff members knew a basic level of English which was very helpful. Room is quite small but that was what I was expecting so no complaints. Didn’t find the noise from the trains very loud or disturb my sleep but you can bring earplugs just in case. I booked a smoking room due to what was available and price and it barely smelt at all.

You get more than what you pay for!!! We had a great time staying in Flexstay. The room was small for 2 of us(me and my partner) but it was definitely manageable as we mainly use it to sleep at night after long walks. It was also old but complete with the basics and was even surprised that they have charger cords for different kinds of devices. Definitely a plus for me! Aside from the cleanliness, the location was also accessible- it’s near 2 JR stations. There’s a convenient store opposite and small eatery just outside the hotel and within 2 mins walk. They also offer toiletries including yukata which is very handy. And has laundry and dryer room. Overall, it’s a great place for those who are budgeting! You get more than what you pay for☺️

My first time ever in japan and stayed here! Super convenient because it’s a short walk from TWO stations, also just 2 stops away from ikebukuro There is a 7-11 across the street which makes it really easy for late night snacks It’s a nice place to stay if you’re planning to be out all day. Nothing luxurious, just a regular room. Great for your budget, would definitely stay here again

Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful! Rooms are quite small and old. There is a lift and washing room. Property is very near a train station and 7-11. Are is suburban, nice and quiet, but very close to a train station.

It’s in a nice area, right next to a JR station. Plus it has a 7-11 right across the street. The room itself was good for the price. Has its own bathroom which is a big plus. The room itself wasn’t super clean. The sheets and towels had stains and the walls and floor were dirty, but overall wasn’t too bad. Especially if you’re just sleeping there. I’d recommend it to solo travellers who plan to be out a lot.

Great staff, great room and overall it was excellent. My phone was stolen, and the staff were great in helping me following this. Having a sever allergy to shrimp, they translated ingredients for me when I had difficulty with Kanji, which saved my life considering I had no translation software anymore. I'll be looking to stay here every time I visit Japan.

Pretty good stay for the price. The room was definitely on the old side but was clean nonetheless. Location was amazing: in a quiet neighborhood that is literally a minute walk away from the station. Friendly and helpful staff at check in. Overall great stay, would come back again!
