My wife and I visit Japan at least once a year -- and Hotel Gajoen is our new favorite hotel. Large rooms, comfortable beds, short walk to Meguro station (subway and Yamanote line), beautiful restored historical artwork throughout the property (take the art tour during your stay), and fantastic onsite dining. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Lots of traditional Japanese culture in luxurious settings, the waterfall, the small water canal with Koi, the large suite room, the Japanese Kaiseki restaurant in a traditional building within the building, the Hundred Steps museum, the relief wall panels of Heian era scenes, a sumptuous buffet breakfast, Omotenashi service etc all lovely.
