A nice option in Vancouver
There were a number of odd quirks with the room, particularly the placement of door handles and light switches, but overall it was a comfortable stay. The hotel is fairly reasonable, considering that almost all hotels in Vancouver are RIDICULOUSLY expensive!

The room was very very pricey against the services and amenities provided. No washroom in the room. Open basin in front of the bed. No AC ! I was just unable to sleep all night because of the noisy fan. I am still wondering why I was charged 308 bucks $100 on hold. Expedia should stop listing such old properties. It's a total dissatisfaction for travellers like me. Only good thing was the front desk staff. Rest the hotel should consider their prices. Totally not worth it, unsatisfied!!!!

The worst accommodation ever. Did the price i paid i expected a lot more. The tiny bed had broken springs and was very uncomfortable. No aircon made the room uncomfortable. The carpets need replacing. Definitely not worth the money.

Well kept good bargain
Good bargain in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Shared bathroom dorm style but sink in the room. Very clean and well maintained. Staff very helpful.

No Air Conditioning But A Nice Retro Hotel
This was a unique hotel. We enjoyed our one night stay. The room did not have air-conditioning. The window was open but did not have a screen so we had a fly in the room. This might have been in the description and I missed it. I probably would not have booked it if I had known in advance.

Our room at the Kingston Hotel was very small with little to no amenities. Our room was at the back of the hotel with no view but another building. There was one tiny window that no air was coming from. The room had two fans which we used each night. We placed the fans in positions that helped us to sleep. On the 4th night as we were sleeping someone was knocking at our door. Apparently, the noise from one of our fans was making it difficult for him to sleep. When we opened the door, he was so irritate and it realy scared me. We absolutely didn't do anything on purpose. At the same time, the office called and told us about the fan. The clerk said that our fan was defective. I told him that wasn't true and tried to explain it to him. The next day after coming back to our room, they removed both fans and gave us one. We didn't sleep our last night there because it was too hot. I do have pictures of the room to show you. The office staff i felt was rude and sided with the other person. Will NEVER go there again!!!!

Vancouver downtown is extremely pricey in terms of hotel stays. Kingston hotel was almost the only affordable option. And the stay was thoroughly enjoyable. The stuff is genuinely friendly, the room is comfortable, all in all exactly what I hoped for. One caveat: it's an older building, the management may want to change the carpeting in the rooms.
