Until the other guy finished with another customer and asked if we need help. Then the other white lady with tattoos asked my other friend if they needed help. They take such pride in their service that if you're unhappy, they'll call security to evict you and your family from the property. We arrived around 5 PM, only to be told by the front desk that our room needed a final inspection and to park in the garage while we waited. By 5:30 PM, the room was still not ready, with no clear ETA. I didn't raise my voice or use any harsh language—I simply asked them to resolve the issue instead of repeatedly apologizing. The manager then appeared, greeted us with a bad attitude, and threatened to cancel our reservation. You can guess what happened next—he called security, and we were escorted out of the hotel, along with my wife and son. I’m less concerned about the cancellation of our reservation or the eviction—perhaps it's a lesson in patience and maintaining a positive attitude when things don’t go as planned. What truly disappointed me was the behavior of their manager. His job is to comfort customers and resolve issues, but instead, he responded with arrogance and threats, only making the situation 100 times worse. The hotel still earns 1.5 stars, thanks to the friendly security guard and doorman. PS: We ended up at Hotel Pacific, just across the street. Their suite was half the price of this one, and it was both cozy and comfortable.

It's not a luxury hotel
Stayed here for my birthday weekend as a treat for me and my daughter. Always wanted to stay at the Portola. The price suggests a luxury hotel but really it's a middle of the road place. A 3.5 star hotel with a 5 star location. Pros: Location, it's right at fisherman's wharf. The staff are all very friendly. The place and room is clean,no mold or weird stains. The bed is comfortable for a hotel bed, with plenty of pillows and a very heavy duvet. They provide tea and coffee pods for your in room keurig, as well as real coffee mugs. The cons: shower pressure is meh and the pipes groan, loudly. You will be nickel and dimed over everything. Charges for parking, Wi-Fi, late check out, etc. The restaurant is not good, the food is frozen pre-made fare. They just kinda reheat it. The air conditioner leaks onto the balcony so be careful stepping out you will get wet feet. The ceiling fan in the room is auto controlled by the ac unit, so it turns off and on by itself. No microwave in the room but you have a little refrigerator. No room service, you can order from the hotel restaurant but you have to go and pick it up yourself. Overall a nice place but not luxury

Girls Weekend
Went there with a friend for a Spa weekend. The hotel was very nice, clean. The guest service didn’t tell us about what services they provided or WiFi. . The hotel was close to everything. The bed needs to be replaced it’s a little worn down. But otherwise very nice
