We arrived at the hotel around 7:30 PM, and there was a staff member at the reception desk. He informed us that we needed to wait 20 minutes as he was on break. A few other guests arrived while we waited, and by the time we checked in, it was quite late.
At check-in, we were given a cotton carry bag containing two paper cups, two coffee sachets, two milk capsules, two sugar packets, a tea bag, two coffee stirrers, and a few toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, and body/hand soap. Our stay was for two nights.
The room was small, with old and worn carpeting. The hooks on the plastic shower screen were broken, and the wash basin could have been cleaned more thoroughly. The room doors didn’t close automatically; you had to pull them and slam them shut for them to lock properly. The frequent slamming of doors as guests came and went. It was very noisy and woke us up a few times during the night.
For dinner, we went to Novotel restaurant which is part of the hotel where I ordered seafood pasta. It was disappointing, especially considering the high price. The sauce was watery and bland. When I asked for Parmesan cheese, the staff member scooped it with his hand from a plastic container and poured it into a dish. I found this unhygienic and told him so. Ultimately, I didn’t finish my meal.
