Novotel on Collins is brilliantly located and reasonably priced with accommodating, friendly staff. The rooms are pleasant enough, and the lifts are fast. Ideal when you’re not spending a lot of time in you room and just need somewhere to shower and sleep.

The staff were so helpful and kind. The facilities were clean and user friendly like the pool and the table tennis family area. Location was perfect and we were in walking distance to all the great local cafe's and coffee shops as well as perfect location for access to the trams. Room was very comfortable and clean, rooms made up daily for us and great internet WIFI. Comfortable beds and pillows also. Will definitely book again on our next trip to Melbourne.

The location was excellent for what we needed, but if you needed to park your car, the facilities across the road were terrible, which was not included in the price stay! A large green tarp in the centre of the building (looks like renovations or extra building is taking place) made the whole area green. It felt looking outside the window weird. Breakfast was good, but if you wanted a barrister coffee over the coffee machine, that was extra. Overall our stay was OK, won't be back though.

I would have liked to see a microwave and toaster in the room so we could warm up food and make our kids breakfast. I also would have appreciated a queen bed and a sofa bed for my child cause we had to sleep in 2 single beds. The staff were lovely though and the hotels were kept clean and tidy! Thank you!

Great location. My only issue was that our shower screen EXPLODED at 3am and there was glass everywhere. Thank goodness we were asleep but it gave us a huge fright and we had to change rooms in the middle of the night. The hotel staff could not really have cared less to be honest! I understand it was a freak occurrence but there was no offer of anything - refund for the night, complimentary breakfast, not even a sorry for the inconvenience. I didn't make a fuss like I imagine some guests would but it was disappointing. The hotel was extremely lucky that we were not in the room when it happened, as we would have been cut to pieces. The screen exploded, not just cracked and shattered. My daughter was too scared to shower in the next room. I hope all screens are checked thoroughly. Doesn't give me faith in the building to stay there again.

A quiet stay with standard service. Concierge on Saturday afternoon was brilliant. We weren’t made aware of the major renovations occurring. Room had an internal window that looked out over the renovations and into the pool and gym. Because of this the privacy was lacking in our room and public spaces. Stayed in a family suite. The second ‘bedroom’ was small and the door wouldn’t stay shut as the strike plate was missing. The bathroom door couldn’t be locked, it was sticky. Beds were suitably comfortable. Overall a decent stay for the night even if it was quite pricey. Would consider alternatives and weigh up the options of booking again.
