Good hotel.
The hotel is conveniently located across from the Orchard Blvd MTR station. That is important because the MTR is the most efficient way of transportation in Singapore. The staff were very friendly. We arrived at the hotel around 11am. They did not have a room available but did tell us there was a freshen-up room to shower if we needed to. Another staffer gave us a map and explained to us how to get to our destination. The young man who helped us with our luggage always greeted us with a smile and very respectful. Our room was very small compared to Vietnam and Malaysia as expected for Singapore. The breakfast dining room was a little chaotic on the first day as it was very busy. The hostess seating us should do a better job of seating the guests. There was a row of five two-person tables. We occupied one end while the table on the other end was also occupied. She sat a couple next to us instead of the middle table where there would be more room for everyone.

Several issues during my 4 days stay including no bell boy to assist with luggage upon arrival. Room that was promised on email was not prepared and that the receptionist promised a manager would be in touch by next day, but none. There were lots of fruit flies on the bathroom exhaust fan, bedsheet had few short hairs and shoe marks. Collection of luggage left at concierge took ages! No one was even there. Asked for some towels/bedsheets also took 40 minutes yet the staff said it was only 10 minutes (I had call records on phone to proof), so you can tell their attitude. J65 restaurant service wasnt great, belongings were cleared off when we went for buffet to collect meals. Staff was not helpful when we wanted to walk-in for dinner either. Location is ok only the good part is MRT is just in front and Tanglin Mall is connected to hotel.

Small room but clean, in good condition and helpful staff. Checking in took a little longer than usual but more than made up for by the all you can eat seafood buffet that served lobster, shrimp and fish. Great value!

This is my third time staying in this hotel and it is disappointed that the cleanliness and condition of the room is getting worsen. It could be just the room I got but it has moldy smell (like wet socks or rotten wood). I just hope it was not the mold which I had to smell for the whole night. It was not a present experience. The check-in time was also delayed. The staff at the counter told the customers in front of me the room will be ready at 2 pm but told me 3 pm and the reason was just we are very busy today. I didn't feel very welcoming until she asked for my phone number and email to key in my profile and I told her I have stayed here before. As a regular customer, I have never experienced this kind of service from this hotel so it is quite disappointed and I will probably not come back to stay again.

Meh. Disappointed. And I already like this place!
Generally a nice hotel but their service is lacking a lot since 5 years ago, generally a lack of attention to details. Automated checkin is clunky, spa staff are lazy (on TikTok, refusing to help me with the sauna not being on, instead passing me a phone to call maintenance myself!, and after doing so, sat in a cold sauna for another 15 mins, never got to use it!), room services slapped on an extra 40% charge without warning, they have this app that you can order amenities from, even glasses and a lavender pillow if you like, but no toilet paper is listed. Bathroom has a dried pee smell, I think they rushed cleaning before 3pm rather than just being 30 mins late and making sure the room is clean, just a guess. Wifi wasn’t working on the TV and staff weaseled out of connecting it for me. Just overall, kinda rubbish for the money. $400 I could fly to HCMC and stay at the ParkRoyal Saigon, I’ll think twice about staycationing in Singapore again when I can get away somewhere much more pleasant for the same money. As prices are increasing it’s not showing in recovering the service to pre-Covid levels, which I think is an industry-wide problem. But the issue is over promising and under delivering. If you have to wrap a towel round you to walk out to spa reception to use a phone to call reception to ask them to tell maintenance to turn the spa on (and never do so), then close the spa down. It’s not even properly advertised their your website anyway so it wouldn’t be a loss.
